  1. I have the Grey Saluspa "egg" with the round green inflatable hot tub. It is about 18 months old, but has only been used in that time for 4 months. I had some E2 errors early on which I corrected with a new filter however it has recently started to not maintain temperature, it sits there are at 93F when the setpoint is 102F. I took the impeller apart but found no wear or problems with it. It was noisy but not any longer. A couple of times I turned it all off for a few days and when I switched it on it went up to 104F with 102F setting. However next morning it was back to 93F. I am thinking there must be something simple inside which is not working properly, but I don't know the internals. Any ideas what might be wrong? I have been through 3 bucket heaters, but they all fail after a few days.
  2. Hey all - I just wanted to let anyone that needs to rectify an "Orange Water" problem. Years ago, I opened our 'above-ground' pool and immediately added chlorine. To my horror, the water turned Orange(ish)- Red. It turns out that chlorine reacted with my well-water which has a lot of Iron in it. Apparently, the chlorine reacts with the iron and oxidizes. I found a solution to the problem then. I had to recirculate my water through a 'home-made' filter filled with floss (like in a pillow)- which worked! So now, I just had the same problem when I opened our little blow-up spa. I took the cloth filters out and stuffed floss into the filter housing. This is working as well. I'll replace the cloth filters when the process is complete. I will post pictures of the process so you can better understand. anyway, I hope this helps someone out there with the same issue.
  3. Hi there - I have a SaluSpa Miami (inflatable) and just brought it out for the season. Once filled up I started heating it up and came back the next day and noticed the water level had gone down significantly. After some investigation and trial and error I determined that it was related to the drain plug (I don't want to call it a valve) that sits at the bottom of the tub. I had never experienced this issue before. The leak was substantial such that it would render it effectively useless unless remedied (i.e. the water level goes down too quickly) The drain plug can be opened to let water out. To close it (seal it) you simply close it and push it shut. See pictures attached. This is much like the plug and stopper you use on inflatable pool toys. However, mine is not sealing and clearly is causing a leak. After some messing around with it (with O-rings) I think I actually "stretched" the rim of the drain plug area and it won't even stay shut now (which isn't that big of a deal since it was a bad leak anyway when it would shut). Has anyone else experienced this and any suggestions? The reality is I don't even need to use that drain plug for its intended purposes. I sub-pump or siphon water hour anyways. I was thinking of just getting some heavy grade waterproof tape or something to just cover up the hole but not sure that will do the trick. Again, I don't need to use the valve so I would be better off to just permanently "seal" off the area. Bestway's website isn't very helpful and all the reviews I read saying trying to reach out to them for input would be futile. Thanks for any help / suggestions!
  4. We are currently using bromine in our Saluspa. We are considering trying salt treatment instead. (Saltron Mini) Are there any possible problems for the pump and heater with salt running through them? We are also waiting for our real FG spa that won't be ready until next year. We'll probably transfer the salt equipment over then)
  5. I was given this Coleman Saluspa from a family member that used it for a while without issue. I went over the directions, set up as recommended, and it worked for several days without issue. I will say that I did use an underrated extension cord and the pump/ heating unit was in direct sun at the time (I didn't know any better at the time). One morning when I went out to the tub it was turned off. When I turned it back on by resetting the GFCI plug I got an "E04" code. I researched it and understood that the tub/ heating unit must have over heated due to direct sunlight. I let it cool, made sure the heating element was shaded but not covered directly. I also noticed the GFCI plug prong looked a little toasted (didn't notice prior to setting up) so I replaced the GFCI plug and got an appropriately gauged power cord. NOW the thermometer on the unit says the water is 99 degrees Fahrenheit yet the water is cool to the touch. The thermostat reading rises rapidly and when it exceeds 104 degrees I get another "E04" code. Where should I go from here?
  6. Has anyone registered their Coleman Saluspa. Ask for a call back from Bestway Corp, the company that makes. them. Been over a week and still no call back from them. My question is where is the serial number located and the batch number. Also for product description, do they want the model number? TIA
  7. Hey, so I have a barely 2 month old Coleman Saluspa. It's the pretty common one that holds about 1000 L and has the external pod that holds the panel and mechanical like heater and pump, attaches via three screw down connections. I know different models will have different volumes, but I used to have an mspa, and it didn't even come close to the level of noise from regular everyday operation with the heat and filter pump running. I'm talking about lid closed, correct water level, no plugs or blocked pipes, aka everything seems fine. Right out of the box from the first time it was on, it has been noticeably loud. Enough that my neighbour complained to me asking me to turn it around because she could hear it. I've taken decibel reading near the unit and average between 53-57dB constantly. I've also found something about a similar unit and a noisy pump suggesting to disconnect it and blow the hose through the outlet for a while as a potential resolution, but no change after trying this. It's possible this is normal, but I wanted to check and see what others think. I've included a link to the audio recording I took of the tub running. My main concern isn't that the noise is too much so much as I don't want to have a busted $700 tub that needs expensive repairs shortly after use just because I ignored a sign. A major problem is that somehow the receipt disappeared, so the place of purchase is iffy about any kind of exchange or warranty, and the manufacturer won't even consider it without the original receipt. 8. Just installed my new Coleman Salspa today and ran the pump for a few hours to circulate the Bromine. When I came back a few hours later, there was a small puddle under the large pipe coupling. I can feel it dripping. It looks like this pipe goes to the air channel for bubbles. Is there a way to isolate this pipe so I can remove it without loosing all the water? Thank you, Veronica
