  3. Hi all, We are a group of students that are designing a better alternative pool skimming device. We need to collect data to understand what features and constraints that we need to design our device to meet. We would greatly appreciate it if you would take our short (11 multiple choice) anonymous survey about skimming pools. 4. This company took a $ 12,300.00 down payment for the construction of a swimming pool from me and have not kept any appointments to start the work. I've kept records and have a print out from NOAA on all rainy days in my area and we've only had 2 days in the last 25 days so there has been plenty of opportunities to start digging. They do not reply to emails, phone calls, text messages and fail to show up for appointments without even a call. Last week, we took off from work because they've promised to show for the digging and no one ever showed. When we called them at noon Rosali stated they weren't coming and would call us before 5:00 PM to re-schedule - no one ever called. At this time we cannot trust this company to build this pool for us and want our money back but I can't get them to reply to my calls to request a refund. We do have a contract signed by them stating that the digging will begin 7 days after the second check for $ 9,800.00 was paid. We gave them a check on 30 May 2012. A check for $ 2,500.00 was previously issued as a down payment. On 22 June 12 we sent them an email requesting a 100% refund since we could not get them to reply to my calls. On 27 June 12 we sent a follow up email requesting information about our refund - no answer. Today I found out the company is telling everyone that they are not taking any public orders and I decide to stop by and personally ask for my refund. Present at the time of my arrival were Jim & Susan Amann, our sales people, but not the owners: Frank & Rochelle Kovar. Of course everyone pointed fingers at the owners and claimed it was all their fault but there was nothing they could to help me. I asked them for Frank's and Rochelle's cell numbers and they refused to provide the numbers. At that time I called the local Police Department and asked them to send an officer. The officer was able to get Frank on the phone and conversed with him. Ath the end of the conversation the police officer told me that Frank wanted me to call him and handed me Frank's cell phone number. I have called Frank three times in the last 3 hours and all I get is a recording. A BBB report was initiated but according to them Tex Star has not replied to their calls either. Obviously, I am planning on meeting with a lawyer specializing in consumer law to see what my options are. According to another posting in this website I am not the first one nor the only one having the same kind of issues with Tex Star. Be aware of this company and the people who run it - I really do not think we will get our money back from them even though we have a contract and all the evidence to show default on their part but we will give them hell....
