  1. I have a Polaris PB4-60 cleaner booster pump running my Polaris pool cleaner. It's worked fine for about 5 years and this year it won't turn on. It doesn't make any noise with power applied (no humming), it's just totally dead. Also, the pump was not running when it died. I just went to switch it on at the start of the season and no luck. This is the second PB4-60 pump in 10 years that has died like this, the last time I just replaced the whole pump but I'm wondering if anyone knows of an easy fix or troubleshooting guidance to see if there's a repair I can attempt. I've seen lots of YouTube videos on replacing the Capacitor but that seems to be what you do if it's humming.
  2. I have an old Polaris 180 which didn't seem to picking up as much of the leaves, etc. at the bottom of the pool as it usually did. For the first time I followed the backwashing instructions as best I could and I see a tremendous improvement. The manual only says: "...occasionally flush out the Polaris..." so I would like to know how often I should backwash it. Also, exactly what is the backwashing process doing since only water should be traveling through the interior of the unit? Thank you.
  3. Hello Everyone, I recently purchased a Dolphin DX4 to replace my old Polaris which has a booster pump attached to pool filter. Since disconnecting Polaris from the side of the pool there seems to be a lot of air in the system and the pressure is really low. I believe the air in the system is due to disconnecting the Polaris. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this issue? Thanks a lot for all of your help!
