My hot tub keep cutting off and displays the OH. The tub is about 15 years old. It is not even heating up to the temp setting of 103. It will run a couple of hours then shut down with the OH on the display. When the temp gets close to 100 it shuts down. I have checked the filter and cleaned it. I have opened all the valves, the pumps are working as it should. I replaced the heating element with a heavy duty one about 4 years ago. I have cut the breaker off several times to see if it would reset itself. The temp was 98 and it cut off with the OH on the display and will not to anything even when cutting the breaker off and back on still displays OH. I don't know what to do at this point and any insight would be helpful.

I have a 6 month old Artesian Nevis spa which appears to have ozone and UV sanitizers installed since the lights for those are illuminated on the panel and there are little bubbles coming out from the footwell like the service tech at the dealer said there would be. I also have a Microsilk system which produces the tiny oxygen bubbles. When I got it, we filled according to instructions using a dichlor system. No issues and kept the chlorine pretty minimal, adding more after each use, since we always showered first and went in au natural. I had to go out of town for 3 months, so turned the heat down to 50 (although ambient temp was high enough to probably keep it at 65 at least) and switched to bromine floater with the nature 2 stick, which seemed to keep things nice the whole time. Drained and cleaned it, soaked the filters (which still looked brand new) in vinegar and water overnight, refilled and decided to try the Spa Frog system. I used the start up packet which came with the spa frog kit (PH and Alk and hardness all good) and dialed the bromine to where it was suggested. The next day, no bromine reading, so I figured I would stick the floater with bromine tabs in the tub to help it out since I had read about others needing to do this. Left it for a couple of hours with the floater open about an inch and took a soak. I don't remember testing the water before I got in, so i'm guessing I didn't! After soaking for 20 minutes (my max time) I did my usual routine of emptying my bladder and showering. Two things happened. My eyes burned like crazy in the shower once water hit them. I thought maybe I had gotten shampoo in them, but this was really painful and took ages to wash out with water and soothing eye drops. A few minutes later, my whole urinary tract was irritated and painful, radiating to my lower back. Saw the doctor since I was worried about a possible UTI, but nope. Just irritation and inflammation. So I am wondering what it is that triggered this. I don't seem to have a bacteria problem since the bromine levels seem to stay up well over two days without the floater in the tub and no use. I had used a bromine floater system in my last hot tub with no problems. Could it have been the start up packet chemicals that came with the Spa Frog? I didn't add any MPS until after I had gotten in that first time, so that wasn't it. Do people have a reaction to the silver in the frog system sometimes? I wear silver jewelry with no problems. Or was it likely that the bromine level was just too high after two hours of the floater plus the frog? I did leave the floaters in the tub with me for about 10 minutes, since they stayed in their own corner, but I know i should have probably taken them out. I was thinking about flushing, draining and refilling the tub and switching back to dichlor, but thought I would get some feedback before going through all that in case it's just chemicals that needed to burn off a bit. Thoughts?? Thanks! I am dying to get back in the spa but afraid to until I have some answers and a decision.

Hi guys, been looking for a tub for couple months. Torn between beach combed and a coast. Just wondering if people have been having issues with coast spas in the last couple years as I'm leaning this way. Also wondering how efficient they really are? thanks

So, at our states fair, "The Big E" (Eastern States Exposition) - The New England fair - Jaccuzzi + Sundance (Jelly Belly), Master Spa (not an expo, just themselves), and some other brand MAAX SPA's were all there with a few tubs running and each had a tent with ~20 tubs on display. All three wanted to ask withing 30 seconds, "...how much are you looking to spend and are you looking to buy today..."; well at least they were up front huh? Ha. Let me tell you, my wife and I have looked at these shows for over 10 years, We have talked about buying one for a very long time. Over these years we have seen the price of tubs steadily climb. Ten years ago 3-6k was the generic range. This year 6-9k was the generic range. Now what I dont get is why these things are so expensive (I mean this in gest). it is a tub, with holes drilled in it, and tubing attached to the holes through a pump and a heating and a filter unit. thats about it. not much more to it. You put water in it, maintain it, and it will serve its useful life - or will it? I work as an engineer. I view this as a luxury and keep that in mind when considering a purchase. I get that it mainly comes down to material material material (and quality therein); qualiy in materials, in company support, and overall design. After looking at the Master Spa's (and window shopping for 10 years), I dont see why people hate Master so much on this forum (strictly from a design perspective). I look at the guts of all the brands I have seen over the years and the guts of the Master. To be honest, I dislike them all. With respect to the Master, they weld their frame and powder coat it. The shell is no thicker or thinner than competitor 'x', their jets are a fair solid design when compared to most every other style I have seen. They have pumps, an as a mechanical component, its going to die some day (preferrably more than 5 years of use). They run a circulator 24/7 (yuck) but this is a hot tub, and is expected to sit in freezing weather. Now all that said, they do have a warranty, and in researching it, and talking to people, they do resolve most complaints. Now we talk price, their sales persons were a joke. I was astonsihed, but when we talk $, they inflate their starting price, then drop it down to make it sound good - in the end, its as fair of a price as anyone else is charging in fact, I did get a slight deal. My tub is being "factory built" and delivered. I need to finalize my 3 day commitment and swallow the decision. So all this said, and flame retardent gear in hand - speaking only to the item in hand, not the sales people or dirty tricks used to get a consumers money, why (factually in current like kind design) is this product less quality than caldera, jacuzzzi, sundance, etc?
