  1. Hi, I'm brand new to this forum and to owning a hot tub. Hopefully someone can help! I just adopted an old hot tub, brand name Blue Pacific. It's 220 volt, and I had an electrician neighbor wire it up for me. When he turned it on, he said that the filter pump didn't work, and if I took it apart I may be able to put new bearing in, etc., for cheap. I tried to take it apart but I can't get the plastic impeller off due to the bolt being part of the plastic and stripping from the wrench head. Anyway, what I need to know is where can I get a replacement pump that matches this one? Both pumps are 4.5hp - .50 SPL, and again this is for the filter. The jet motor works fine(so far). The company/info on the pump is Magnetek Century Lasar Pool/Spa Motor, 1081/1563 Pump Duty. I will try to upload a pic of the label and pump. Now my question is this: do I need the same style of pump or can I get a smaller one? The guy at the local spa store said 4.5 is way too big, all I need is 2.0 hp. If this is the setup that came with it though, I want to make sure it performs correctly. The spa has 22 jets, and 10 other metal screened things that might be different kinds of jets or bubblers? Not sure how many gallons it holds, I have no info on the spa and the company seems to have gone out of business, so I haven't been able to get a manual. If anyone has any help on this it would be amazing. If you need more info, just let me know. Thanks in advance!
