  1. Hi all, got the hot tub out of storage to find what I can only describe as a black mould as well as other stain patches. Does anyone know how to clean/remove these? Even my jet wash doesn’t take it off. I’ve tried bleach, that does seem to fade it but not remove it Pretty devastated to be honest, I clean the whole thing down and dried it thoroughly before storing it :( Hopefully someone can help. Kind regards Mark
  2. Hello, I’m pretty new to Pool stuff but was doing well until 1 or 2 weeks ago. Then algae arrived and I began researching. The first time I just shocked the pool. Talked to a pool place and they directed me to brush the pool and then shock (makes sense). So I brushed the pool and shocked it again. I made sure the filter cartridge was rinsed and had the pump running. It went away for a day or two. The cover doesn’t stay on completely and it stormed. Algae returned. So I brushed the pool and shocked again. Filter rinsed several times and pump ran. The next day it looked better so I tested the levels and added what I needed. It’s back again. The pool isn’t at my house and my girlfriend isn’t always able to keep up with it. So I’m thinking of just draining the entire pool (good opportunity to also remove an annoying rock under the floor). Is this a good idea just to start over? Once it’s filled I assume I test the water and add whatever is needed? Do I need to shock it right away? My pool is a Polygroup Summerwaves 12’x30” RX 600 series. It holds 1,471 gallons (5,568 litreS) I’m going out to buy cartridge cleaner to ensure all algae is killed from the current cartridge filter. All stores and pool centres are completely sold out. Amazon’s won’t arrive until September so I need to ensure the one I have lasts the rest of summer. Any help, suggestions or tips are appreciated. Thank you in advance!
  3. I'm looking to upgrade my pool pump from a 32mm (1 1/4 inch) to accept a 50mm (2 inch) flow. I'm doing it because i want to use a heat pump (3kw hydro-s) which uses 50mm pipes. My pool is a 12ft diameter 2ft deep Jilong above ground pool with 32mm inlet and outlet (typical to intex/bestway style). I'm also upgrading filter pump to a sand filter (Hydro-Fit Filter Set) - this accepts both 32mm and 38mm. However the heat pump only accepts 50mm. I've been told about a couple of options so far: 1. (using type B adaptors at inlet/outlet and more rigid pipe) Intex type b adaptor on to pool £21.99 x 2 Large Intex hose £21.99 Pipe and fittings for heat pump £50 bypass kit 50mm to match heat pump £79 2. (using t piece hosetails) bypass kit £44 (38mm)6m of hose £18 (@£3 per/m)T piece hosetails x2 (32mm) £2.20 each (£4.40) I think I would need more stuff than no2 method above (dont think the company who quoted me that stuff fully understood my requirements). i've heard some cut into the pool lining to avoid downsizing the pipes, but i dont want to mess this up. the max flow from the heat pump is a bout 2.5m3 and 4m3 from the filter pump. would reducing the pipes from 50mm down to 32mm limit the performance of my heat pump? Or would the velecity increase and make up for it? any ideas please?
  4. Anyone know how I can setup a new round Intex 10'x30" above ground pool on a rectangular 7'x13' concrete slab that is surrounded by grass? Can I just use ~20 bags of mason sand and fill the cement area up to meet the grass height? Then put some sand on the grass to make it more level too? Is there a better way to do this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I also purchased a pool pad as well. This will be my first pool setup and want it to be nice for the kids.
  5. We just install Intex AGP 15'x48" and we're using Intex Sandwater Filter SF15110 and Intex Saltwater System CS8110 - 3 day ago We took a water sample to a pool place and the Chlorine Level shows 0.5 according to them the Chlorine level should be 1.2 BUT the Intex Saltwater guide show that Ideal is 0.4 - 1.5 ppm The reading 0.5 has been the same for the last 2 days, we put up the pool 3 days ago.. should I add shock treatment to the pool to jump start the chorine level sine the pool place recommend 1.2 or should I leave it along for now since the current reading is 0.5 and this reading ig "Ideal" according to the Intex guide chart? NOTE: the other reading that is off is the Stabilizer = 0, we haven't added any Cyanuric Acid since the chlorine level is low. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
