  1. We have a 12 year old pool. Our filters are clean. The cleaning system pulls through the skimmers, but not through the main pool drain. It works fine when on spa mode, too. We did have a time of lots of wind. and debris may have gotten stuck down main drain. We heated the pool and stuck a wire hanger down the main drain to try and unclog potential blockage - to no avail. We tried a "bladder" going through where the wire basket is to use water pressure to blow out anything- to no avail. Do we need to buy a "snake" or some other special tool to unclog this area? Any tips on how to proceed would be appreciated.
  2. Im trying to settle and argument between my father in law and I. The previous owners left a fairly new "used" 6 person in-ground hot tub uninstalled near the pool. I wanted to get rid of it but my father in law thinks that we can just build an above ground "shell" for it and incorporate the piping into the in-ground pool system. Im fairly certain this CANT be done. I once read that there was a difference in how the in and above ground hot tubs were made. Am I correct? Is it possible to build an above ground frame to house it? Or can In-ground hot tubs ONLY be installed in-ground for water displacement reasons? Please educate us! Thanks in advance!
  3. I may need to get a new tub. Mine is 30 years old, and the heater doesn't appear to be working. My wife insists a new tub be installed in the ground, like a swimming pool. What are the issues with this? Must the hole be lined with cement? Plastic? Or what? Is electrical a major issue for in-ground tubs? What about getting to the equipment for repairs and maintenance? Are bugs an issue? If the spa leaks, the water will go into the ground. Is this an issue? And down the line, if we need to replace the tub again, I guess we’ll to get one a similar size to the existing one to fit in the same hole. Do tubs usually stay around the same exterior size? And lastly, what is the approximate cost to sink a tub? 4 person, about 300 gallons. And CAN a prefab fibegrass tub be installed in-ground? Or do I need to have a tub custom-built, like a swimming pool with tile, etc..., for that? Thanks!
