  1. I own a Sundance Tacoma Spa, a very compact triangular 3-person unit. I have been very happy with it. But lately it has begun to get "watchdog errors" which typically mean bad temperature sensor or flow sensor. When that happens the heating shuts off. I have two problems: I live in a very cold climate, and I will be traveling for a few weeks. I don't have time to figure out the reason for the watchdog error, probably requiring ordering parts. So I have decided to "winterize" my spa -- which means draining ALL of the water. The issue that I'm having is that I need to remove the drain plug(s) on the pump (according to the user manual). But, due to the compact nature of the Tacoma, the drain plug(s) seem to be nearly totally inaccessible. I can reach my arm all the way into the cabinet of of the spa and feel what I think is a drain plug on the pump, but there's no way that I could possibly remove it, let alone put it back. I am wondering if anyone has ever "winterized" a Sundance Tacoma spa and if so, how the heck did you deal with the drain plug? Many thanks, Amature
  2. We are snowbirds, spending winters in Phoenix area and summers in Colorado. We are considering a semi-inground swimspa for our Arizona home as an alternative to an inground pool. I was wondering if it could be drained and covered for the summer. I thought maybe Silver Shade (www.silvershademesh.com) cover to protect from the sun but allow airflow. Any thoughts?
  3. Good morning, We recently purchased a home with a pool. Having never owns a pool before, we are slowly figuring it all out - or so we thought until we tried to heat up the spa for the first time last night. We have a pool with an attached spa with spillover into the pool. The spa also has a hole in the middle for a screw in fountain ( which we have taken out). With the filter on the spa fills up and spills over into the pool. With the filter off the spa drains down to pool level. Not ideal, but it has been ok - the spa always fills back up when we turn the filter on. So last night we turned the valves to what we thought we were supposed to do, turn the heater on and the jets came on and the spa heated up, BUT it slowly drained down to pool level. I have tried all morning to attach photos of our set up but can't seem to figure it out. Help on all fronts would be appreciated http://flic.kr/p/e3N5H6 http://flic.kr/p/e3N5E8 http://flic.kr/p/e3THAs I can't get them to show up as pictures, but here are links to the pictures - I hope this works....
