  1. I have a question about using Epsom salt along with normal pool salt (sodium chloride) in my hot tub with a chlorine generator cell. My basic understanding is that the chlorine generator cell, AKA salt cell, works with sodium chloride in the water to activate the chloride ion so that it acts like sodium hypochlorite had been added. We understand limitations to adding Epsom salt to some 3000 PPM because of corrosion concerns. If we add the Epsom salt to the salt water in the hot tub, will the chlorine generator cell still work to create chlorine? What about the sulfate ion from Epsom salt? Please feel free to correct any of the information that I have stated in my understanding. Please help me out with what seems to be a complex chemistry question.
  2. Jandy AquaPure 1400 chlorine generator is working intermittently. This is a newer model and the cell and sensor were replaced about 6 months ago. The system worked flawlessly after replacement up until a few weeks ago. Now, when the system is turned on, lights on the panel come on in the normal way over the first minutes of operation. Sometime after "Power On" , "Cell On", and "Flow" all show and chlorine is being produced (as tested by taking a sample near an outlet) the "Cell On" light will go off and all others will remain lit. With the "Cell On" light off, no chlorine is produced. The service light is not on and no error codes show at any time. While the "Cell On" light is off, if I push either the "Chlorine Production Rate" up or down arrow arrows, the "Cell On" light immediately comes on and chlorine production resumes. Sometime thereafter (between minutes and an hour) the "cell On" light goes off again. Any ideas on how to fix this?
  3. New to this forum and getting ready to build a 20x40 igp. I would like to know which chlorine generator, heat pump, pool pump, control system, and light system they prefer. Here is what I am considering. A 30" hayward 2 inch pipe 1.5 hp 2 speed pump, a aqua pro 1300 heat pump (125 btu) , color logic led light, aqua-rite & 40k salt cell. I found this kit at Royalswimmingpools.com. I am also looking into a robotic cleaner. I live in southern Missouri and it will have unobstructed sunshine most of the day. Any input is appreciated. I plan to hire a contractor to do the install, as I do not have the time, talent, or tools for the job. Thanks again. I will keep everyone posted with pictures and progress.
