  1. Hi all! We've recently bought a Hawaii airjet Lay-Z-Spa and for the life of me i cannot get my head around keeping the water clear! After around 5-7 days of use we are dealing with very cloudy, almost teal coloured water and i'm getting vastly different readings on my strip tests. Bought a clear water starter kit and the dip tests in there give me a High PH level reading, but a second set i bought from B&Q which are a 6 in 1 test show the PH to be very low. I'm cleaning the filter out often and we've tried shocking the water with chlorine but the water is still murky, there's no funky smell like its not clean, its just not so nice to look at i guess and i'm positive there's something up that i can't quite figure out! Any tips on resolving cloudy water and also avoiding it in the future? I really don't want to resort to refilling every week! Thanks J
  2. I opened my 16x32 in ground on memorial weekend. It was a disaster. Green and murky. Soon after I was able to see bottom and there was lots of debris. Within days Of shocking and constant running of filter and backwash I was able to get things under control but for the last week I just can't get rid of the green tinge to the water. Just can't get that crystal clear look. It seems to be in the water as the deep end is greener than the shallow end. I assume it's is algae suspended in the water but it doesn't get better on a day to day basis. Pool store says chemistry is ok with exception of cya at zero. I am running DE filter on a regular schedule, no extended run times like I did at first. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  3. I have green silt at the bottom of my pool that I can't get rid of. The chlorine & ph levels are good. The vacuum doesn't pick it up because it's too fine. There is no green algae on the side that needs to be scrubbed. I clean the cartridge daily. I've shocked the pool twice. And I've tried green to clean. When we swim in the pool it stirs up the silt and gives the entire pool a light green appearance. You can still see the bottom, but it is just a little murky. And there are trees nearby, so although we keep the pool clean, some of the green may be organic particles rather than algae. Should I give it one more good sock treatment? Or any other suggestions?
