  1. Hi guys, before I shell out a lot of money on a new pump that may not fix my problem, I was hoping to get some advice. Originally I had a C-5 Spa controller that kept tripping my 40 amp breaker. I had an error code for the temperature sensor. I unplugged everything except the power, and it stayed on, but when I added the temperature sensor back, it clicked off. This made me think it was the temperature sensor and I replaced two of them but this didn’t fix the problem or the error. I eventually got fed up and bought a new controller, a Gecko YE5. I fired everything up and it seemed to work great with all jets blazing, but I got a FLO error that won’t go away and it won’t heat. I tried removing the filters opening all the jets and bleeding the unions in case it was an airlock, but the FLO error always comes back after a few minutes. The only thing I notice is that pump 2 has kind of a loud hum and leaks a little no matter how much I tighten it. I read that a pump can actually trip the breaker and I wonder if this pump is my problem all along. I’m also wondering if it’s possible my pump has a voltage mismatch given the instructions said I might need to change the wires, but I thought this wasn’t possible given the Jets are working fine. I’m also wondering if it is even possible the pump is the problem because the jets are working. I’ll add video tomorrow. Any advice appreciated. Update from original post: I switched the pumps at the control box so pump 1 is now pump 2. I did this because I suspected the original pump 2 was bad. This is also the one connected directly to the controller while the other pump is indirect. Interesting thing is now the new pump one will not run on low speed. I am going to pull out this pump and check the wiring because the manual said I may need to switch the wire from what I had. Yep I checked the manual and red is supposed to be high speed. You can see in my video that I have black and red switched. I think this is the problem. I have no idea how it was running but I will update if this fixes it. Update: Ok, I drained the hot tub because the valves don’t stop all the water from coming out. I then switched the red and black wires at the pump using the new cables that came with the Gecko and refilled the tub. Think that fixed it. Hot tub started heating right away with no flo errors after several hours. Hope this helped somebody. FullSizeRender.MOV
  2. Hi, I've had my hot tub for 9 months now, never had any problems. Last week the word FLO appeared on my control panel. I've drained and cleaned the tub, cleaned the filters, refilled it and I’ve still got the same message on my control panel. The jets still work, and I can’t see anything wrong with the tub, except the 2 intake valves on the picture attached - the left one sucks my hand in when the jets are on, the right one doesn’t, and I’m wondering if they should both suck in water or not? The reason I’m unsure is because the right one has always dispensed the warmer water back into the tub when it’s heating back up during use, and I’m not sure if it has ever sucked water in. the tub appears to operate normally but won’t heat up. Thanks in advance
  3. I have a CAT200 Catalina Spas Hot Tub. Just replaced the large pump, small pump, circuit board and heater as well as the flow sensor. Now I turn on and get a FLO error. I have bleed all pipes I can. Primed the jets. Removed and replaced the filters. I even tried adjusting the pressure sensor. The hot tub will just not circulate. I may have mis-wired somewhere, I guess. The tub will heat and work when jets are on too. I am about to break down and pay for service but want to see if anyone has fixed this or has a CAT200 to compare wiring. Thanks!
  4. Hello my name is Marcello, I got gifted a Sundance Marin Spa 850, I'm not sure what year it is but I believe it is around 2004 or so. I put it into place and hooked it up to a spa disconnect and all that good stuff. I replaced the discharge valve because it wasn't leaking just yesterday and was able to fill it up finally! After filling, I was able to turn it on. All the Jets and bubbles worked great, but I got a COLD (due to the cold water) FLO error on the display. I decided to run the Jets and set the filter to run for a little while to clear up any gunk and buildup in the pipes. (Prior to this, the hot tub hadnt been turned on for over a year). I walked away. When I returned 20 minutes or so later, the hot tub showed four dashes (watchdog error). I turned it off over night and tried again this morning to receive the same error. It turns on, flashes for a split second FLO2 and goes into watchdog mode. I've researched a bit and it looks like this error can mean a multitude of things. In this specific instance, I was able to turn it on and run everything for about 30 minutes until it went to that watchdog error and now it just goes straight to that error. Any ideas on what it could mean? A thousand thank yous in advance!
  5. Hey Everyone, not sure if this has been discussed before, since I have found plenty of information about the Flo Error message in the Sundance spas. I haven't been able to track down any thoughts on what my specific problem is. Here is the backstory- inherited Sundance Capri (circa 1997) at the new house I bought. Great pool, started fine, but did not know how previous owner treated water, so I drained it, refilled it, got the source water profile, started with new treatment. Flo error message came on, service tech came out, 5 minute fix to blow the lines, there was air (very typical cause of the Flo error message). Also around this time, I got a brand new filter. Used it for a while, then noticed breaker was beginning to trip. Found out the source of the error, was the Air Blower went bad, so I unplugged it and used the tub for a little while. Flo message showed back up. When I shut off the breaker and turn it back on the jets work, heater brings it back up to temp, then Flo error comes back on after Jets/Heater turn off. I replaced the air blower, easy fix, that works fine now too, was hoping that might solve the problem, unfortunately still Flo error message comes back on. The reason I feel this is unique, is that every Flo error message conversation I come across, really only references a situation where the pump/jets/heater do not work at all. My error message only shows up after the pump and heater have worked to bring the spa up to temp. I can continue using it, as long as I keep the pump running (turning off breaker and turning back on) but then every morning having to do this draws so much electricity to get back up to temp. Question for you all, have you experienced this and what was your fix? Not calling out the techs again for an easy DIY fix, even if it means replacing parts, not afraid to do that either.
  6. Old Morgan Spa I replaced the 50745 board with a new M3 retro fit 52518 board along with a new topside controller-51058. I have 2 motors- 2 speed motors 1- blower No ozonator 1. On the new board I pulled the J10 jumper 2. J7 is on "A" side 3. J25 is on 60Hz There is a flashing FLO code along with COOL. I have tested the continuity of the pressure switch while the pumps are on and it is closed and open when the pumps are off. Pump 1 is running on low speed and high speed when press pump 1. When pressed third time the 2nd pump does not turn on. The 2nd pump does not come on at all now. The old board does not have a relay on pump 2 if this matters. When press clock(time)- blower comes on???? Press blower button-(bottom right) something clicks on board but blower does not turn on. I feel I am missing something. Any suggestions?
  7. I have an older Sundance spa that came with my vacation home. When visiting this weekend, I found an "FL O" error on the tub and it would not heat. (All other functions, blowers, lights etc work). I took out the circulation pump, it appeared to be stuck and then it freed up. I refitted it but it still did not run. I also tested the pressure sensor and tripped it into closing which started the heat but still no water flow (Stopped that after 5 seconds to avoid any burn-out/over heating etc). I'm pretty certain the circulation pump needs replacing, but I want to check it first but am not sure if it constantly runs or not - If it does then I know I should expect a constant voltage to it whilst the spa is on. Thus, my question is: Should the circulation pump be constantly running even when the spa is not heating? Any advice would be great, thanks
  8. Hi, So I've been reading on here how to fix my spa. Pump 1 wasn't working and I was getting a FLO error message. I checked the intake and the reset the hot tub didn't work. I checked and pump 1 wasn't even making any noise when I tried to turn it on, so I thought fuse. When I was going to take the fuse out for pump 1 I accidentally shorted the fuse with my pliers, there was a large spark. (I had forgotten to flip the breaker, I know rookie mistake) I replaced the fuse and turned the hot tub back on but there was nothing. No power, no controls, pump 2 didn't work which it did before. Can anyone tell me what shorting the pump 1 fuse would've done? I thought maybe it blew a different fuse but I couldn't find anything else that was blown. I have a M class spa system circuit with 2 pumps - 2005 Arctic Yukon. See picture below, I will highlight the fuse that I shorted. I have a multimeter and I could work forward to see where the power stops but I'm not sure where to start. thank you for any help. 9. Hello. I think my pressure switch is bad and am going to replace it. On my hot tub the pressure switch is pointed toward the back of the tub and looks inaccessible without being able to remove the heater tube. The tube and control panel are all contained in a plastic liner which makes access difficult. Can anybody offer any suggestions? THanks. Jeff
  10. New to forum: hope you can help. I have a Sundance Capri spa and have enjoyed it for years. It has been bitter cold in the Northeast. Went out to check on the spa, water was cold and was giving me alternating ICE and FLO indicators along with a temperature reading around 60. I changed the filters and determined that I needed a new flow valve...so I replaced it. Both pumps seem to be operating properly now, but I am still getting a FLO error message...and have done all the things I have read on line to remedy that situation to no avail. The panel does not show that the heater is active....although the temperature of the spa has been slowly rising...it's now at 75 and it is only 15 outside...so, something is heating the water. The pumps do not feel unusually hot to the touch. I went ahead an ordered a new temperature sensor since it seems that for $26 it was another thing to check off the list. Can anyone provide any additional guidance regarding the failure to get the spa heating properly and also about the FLO error message? Thanks. David K
  11. Hydro Spa Endurance - Water change a few weeks ago and have issues ever since. drained and refilled tub. Started it back up and got FLO message. Removed filter and tried to restart to no avail. After researching, thought is may be an air lock. Have cracked all fitting around heater but still have FLO message on startup. If I turn jets on as soon as I power the spa back up, it will run and heat up to the desired temp. and kick off as normal but when temp. drops a few degrees and spa tries to fire heater again, FLO message will appear and will not heat and jets will not come on even if I hit the button. If I power it off and back on, hit jets button again, it will repeat the above process. Any suggestions? I have photos of the inside plumbing and electrical systems but I'm new here and haven't figured out how to post photos yet.
