  1. Hi everyone, I have the possibility to buy a used Hotspring Highlife Sovereign spa of 2012´ (7 years old). Is this choice to be recommended (at 7000€) or is it better to put the price difference and buy a new one? My attention is mainly focused on: - water quality and maintenance required by the spa (are the new models easier to maintain?) - reliability (what is the life expectancy of this equipment?) Thank you for your answers, Alesissss
  2. Good morning, all! My husband and I have been looking to purchase a hot tub for about a year now, but simply cannot bring ourselves to spend $6k+ on a brand new tub. I was poking around online yesterday and happened to find a used 2005 Sundance Cadence hot tub that a woman was giving away for free, as long as we haul. We went to check it out same day and loved it- it's a great tub and looked well maintained. We have to figure out how to move it, so I started calling a few local hot tub haulers. The one who got back to me said he would politely decline the job as the Sundance tubs from tha
  3. Would like to buy a used heat pump for a small in-ground pool. Only 8000 gallons. I just don't want to pay the $2500 that I am seeing for a new one. Cost doesn't justify the means. Any ideas? I saw a few on craigslist a few months ago, but now they are gone. We live in Newport News, Va.
  4. Hi everyone. This is my first post, but I have spent hours reading this forum as well as a lot of other hot tub/spa information online. I'll tell you; my head is spinning! We have been overwhelmed with the different spas and options out there. Why I asked for help asap is because we looked at a used hot tub this evening & we need to let the guy know tomorrow whether or not we want to take it. First though, I'll give you some background information. Sorry, but this post will be long. We are new to hot tubs, so we are coming at selection from a newbie perspective. The main reason we want/n
  5. Good morning, I purchased a home a few weeks ago and have had enough time to start to get settled in. The home came with a hot tube and I've never owned one before. The person who owned the home didn't leave with me with any instructions, all he said was that it worked. I'm looking for some help on what to do to test everything on the hot tub to verify it works and get me going for the winter months. Check for leaks? Verify Heating element works? Verify Pumps work? Verify sprayers work? I'm just looking at how to do all this stuff and anything else i might need to do to verify I have a good,
  6. http://buffalo.craigslist.org/for/3261029532.html We went and saw this tub this weekend in action, it held heat at 104 degrees, the pumps sounded very quiet, no water in the three areas where the pumps are located. Surface looks good, exterior is slightly faded on Western exposure. Seller had the receipt for all the jets & pillow replacement along with maintenance history going back to when it was purchased. The tub is a 2005 floor model that was purchased in 2006. I would like to know what members on here think a fair price is.
  7. I'm looking for a good used hot tub that's not too expensive but not so cheap that it will be a hole in the pocket. I found someone local selling a 2004 Sundance Altimar spa and they listed it for $1500. It comes with a cover and is in good working condition. Is that a good price? Anything to be cautious of?
