  1. 2009 Tiger River Spas Caspian CHP. Power button flashing. Reset at the breaker results in a fully functional tub. No longer flashing, all jets come on and remain running. Tub gets hot. limit ok and heater lights on IQ2020 board stay on as well as D17 light. Watkins no fault 4wk heater has a built in wire for the pressure switch and that has been removed from the board and jumped. Brand new filter. My problem: once the jets are turned off, power button returns to flashing in a matter of seconds and limit light and heater light go off and D17 light remains on. Jets will not function unless reset and breaker again for about 5 minutes and then the process starts all over again.
  2. Woke up to about a foot of water missing from my hot tub (Tiger River Bengal). I shut off the power so that I didn't burn up the heater or pump. I then had to leave for a few days, but when I got back I thought "what the hell, I'm going to fill it back up and observe." I left the power off, and it wasn't leaking! Dry as a bone around the base for days. So I flipped the power back on (thinking what a lucky guy I am that it miraculously fixed itself). After a few hours, I saw the water slowly pooling by the side of the tub. It's not coming out of the pump or the heater itself (it's dry in the compartment where all the equipment is housed). So, where do you think it's leaking from? It's definitely tied to the low circulation heater pumping process. Thanks for any suggestions.
  3. I have a 120V 05 or 06 Tiger River Bengal Spa that the heater will shut down intermittently on. If I unplug it and wait a few minutes and plug it back in it starts back up fine and may go for 2-3-4-X days and then it shuts down again. The indicator I get is the blinking power light on the control panel. If I check the circuit panel the only lights that are lit is the D17 LED which is red. I'm the original owner and we have not had any issues until last summer when it started doing this. Because of this we didn't use it much and all I did was make sure I rest it every few days so it didn't freeze over the winter. I've had a tech out to look at it - he first told me it was a flow issue because of slime in the lines and told me to run Clean Start through it, clean the filter and drain and restart. He said that would take care of it. I did that and it ran for 3 days and the heater shut down. I called him back out and he said he couldn't figure out why it was doing this but changed the circ pump to see if that helped. It didn't - it ran for 4 days and shut down. When it's working the Hi Limit Light is red and the Heater Power light is green and no other lights are on. I have little confidence in the tech that has looked at it and am notgoing to keep paying for service visits that don't do anything. Like I said when it's shut down the only light I get is the D17 LED. Is there something about this that tells me anything?
  4. I have an 03 tiger river with the latest revision main board (77087) and a 2 relay updated heater board. wired for 120v on a dedicated 20a circuit. if i turn on my spa the jet pump cycles for a moment, the control panel lights up briefly, then everything turns off and only the circ pump runs. The D17 light is lit and the HEATER ON light is lit, LIM OK is off, no lights on control panel. 2 brand new Thermistors (79005,79006) both ohm at 8k at around 77*F, same as the old ones i removed. getting 120v to the board, no voltage to the heater. I am confident i have all jumpers and wires placed correctly according to the included documentation. occasionally the control panel red light will blink, another time the control panel read presumably the correct current temperature but did not respond to input. I suspect the main board i bought as 'new open box' is defective? I have a background in automotive and a fair amount of experience troubleshooting logic gate circuits but i need some advice in how to proceed before i go ahead and order another main board. edit: wanted to add that i have tried disconnecting both the heater and the jet pump and get the same behavior. also removed filter. if i unplug the control panel and restart, all 4 lights come on. Thanks in advance for any help.
  5. Kids pushed Jet switch on and off multiple times. No longer works. Pushing switch does illuminate the switch panel and display the jets graphic on and off. The rest of the buttons work as well (temp up/down). No signs of burnt wires or areas on the circuit board. The Jet Pump does work...ran power directly to test. Appears as though the both the switch and the pump are working as they should. Assuming something with the circuit board. 1999 Tiger River Bengal M. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
  6. I have an older tiger river bengal model m hot tub, I recently fixed a leak at a flow valve, it worked fine the following day after the repair, but now the green light isn't on and its got some funky code on the readout. I have no idea what the isdue is so I took a few oics to hopefully help. Any input is appreciated. Thank you!
  7. I have a second hand hot tub that I received as a gift and we got it running a couple months ago. We have had some issues lately. It was running fine for about a month until the control panel began showing only a blinking “ready” and blinking “power.” The jets and light work fine but the temperature began to drop and after some research I assumed it must be the temp sensor. My boyfriend replaced that for me yesterday and at the time the water was warm, but not hot. After 24 hours it is starting to drop in temperature and isn’t nearly as warm. Now the screen is just blinking “ready.” I tried turning the power off at the breaker and turning it back on and it starts up fine and screen looks normal but then after about 10 seconds something clicks and the screen just goes back to blinking “ready.” It’s in the 30’s here in NH and expecting snow soon, so hoping to fix it before conditions get worse! But not sure what else it could be! Water level is over the jets... is there something else we can do? Maybe an issue with the part replacement? Thanks in advance for any advice or help!!
  8. Hello; I have a older Tiger River Bengal model M that will not heat. I bought 2nd hand. I have replaced the heater, circ pump and heater relay board. I have thoroughly cleaned the filter as well as removed possible air locks. The heater is a no fault 6KW so there is no pressure switch (fuse in panel). When I take control panel cover off, htr on is lit red, and lim light is green. There was an ozonator that was installed, but currently not hooked up. I have water flowing into spa as I can see the water moving, however there are no bubbles. If I disconnect hose from circ pump and plug circ pump with my thumb to pressurize, when I reconnect I will get bubbles for 1-2 seconds. Not sure what additional steps to take?
  9. Have a 1993 Tiger River Spa, Check valve is broken, not enough room to replace it, tube sticks out just a little in the upper right corner and doesn't seem to be movable. Anyone have this problem and have suggestion?
  10. How does one remove the Jet Face (#2 in diagram)???? Directions say… Remove the jet by grasping the jet faceplate and pulling it away from the spa shell. With jet in hand, two o-rings should be on the rear portion of the faceplate. If either o-ring is not present, inspect the inside of the front wallfitting and remove the missing o-ring. To reinstall the jet, reverse steps 1 to 3.Important: Make sure that the o-rings are properly seated. It rotates cw and ccw and comes to a dead stop, but it won't pull out. I tried prying it off with a plastic panel remover with no luck. I have a leak there and need to remove the body to make a clean repair. I also want to change-out all the o-rings in this 20 yr old tub. 1998 Hot Spring/Tiger River Bengal® Model M
  11. I have a 2004 Tiger River Bengal. My Smart Jet Diverter Valve was leaking from top and I had water dripping from large white pipes under tub shell behind control panel. I replaced diverter valve and o-rings. Works great. Problem now is that water is still dripping from large white pipes under tub shell when the diverter valve is in 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock positions and pump is running. Tub does not leak unless pumps are running. The water drips down from pipes in pump compartment as well as drips out of right corner of exterior casing(tub is on concrete slab with slight pitch to right). The large white pipes coming from manifold seem very durable. Could they develop a leak? Any ideas appreciated.
  12. I have the same Problem going on in the same spa, Who can help me? It has been 2 years since Mike left his reply... It's a Tiger River "Bengal" series and it leaking from the Right front corner "Right of control panel" of the spa from the bottom right corner and coming from a screen. I looked in the front panel and everything is dry as well as the right side panel. I also took off the corner trim and dry in there. I used a mirror to look under the corner and water appears to be coming from a little white tube about 1/2 inch in diameter from under the screen.. this model id from around 2004ish

  14. Tiger River Spa by Hot Springs (serial M-130143). SO, I've had this maintenance-heavy spa a while--and after changing out the relays a couple times over the years, and finding a new main board that was still available for this old spa I decided to change it out. I replaced the top controller board as well. Now the spa comes on when plugged in and immediately the GFCI shuts it down, but only when the main pump or thermostat is turned up. Disconnecting the heater and main pump alleviates the shut down (so I guess I'll be looking for moisture and ground faults in my heater and pump)---but Also, the circ pump shuts off after running for 30 seconds--even when I jump the flow switch on the main board! Now what?? It's a brand new board?!?!? Why might this 30 second shutdown be happening?
  15. OK, please read carefully because the obvious response to this question cannot be right: My 10-year-old Tiger River Bengal spa has begun gurgling loudly. I hear the gurgles as bubbles traveling through the tubing. They can be heard all over the tub; there's no clear location for them. Bubbles coming from the ozonator are large. When I block the venturi with my finger, the gurgling stops in a few seconds. This means that air is NOT entering the system from somewhere else in the tub. So you would think the problem must lie with the ozonator, the check valve, or the flow restrictor - but read on. The strange thing is that when I flush, drain, and clean the tub, the gurgling goes away completely. Bubbles from the ozonator look like they should: tiny bubbles, lots of them, like champagne or soda fizz. The tub will then work normally for a day or two, even three or four days — but then the gurgling slowly comes back, getting louder and louder, and the bubbles get bigger and bigger. I've done this four times now with the same result each time. I thought the problem was too much airflow, because this problem began when I pulled the flow restrictor out of my Hot Springs ozonator, not realizing that I wouldn't be able to replace it. First I bought a new ozonator (a JED 103 CD Spa / Hot Tub Ozone Generator), but that did nothing. So I installed a flow restrictor between the ozonator and the check valve. (The JED 103's parts are sealed, so I can't tell if there's already a flow restrictor at the ozonator's own air intake.) I also replaced all the tubing and the check valve. The flow restrictor definitely reduces the gurgling. But it doesn't stop it, and while the ozone bubbles aren't huge, they also don't look like the gentle fizz that seems normal. The weird behavior - after cleaning it works normally with no gurgling, even without a flow restrictor in place, but then slowly begins to gurgle again - suggests to me that maybe the problem is not in the ozonator at all. Could it be a clog in the plumbing somewhere? I'm imaging a partial blockage with air building up behind it, then bubbling through in large bursts - or something like that. How can I figure this out?
  16. I have a Tiger River Spa, the Sumatran N model. Recently, the water went cold, and I could not get it to heat. After following threads and discussions in this site and others, I tested and was able to determine that the heater was bad. At that point, everything else in the spa worked, and no circuits had been tripped. Jets ran, control board worked, main circuit board green light and red light both lit. The failed heater was a Watkins No Fault 6000 with the following information on the sticker on the bottom of the unit: 240V6000W, THJ01, SET-DO-OH-CO, 11113, 240328, 36(8?)10 REV K. The replacement heater, as recommended by Watkin's, is a Watkins PDR Titatium 1.5KW/6KW - model #73790. I drained the tub, replaced the heater, and then refilled the tub with the filter removed and the hose in the filter housing tube to reduce the chance of air locks. I then replaced the filter, turned the power back on, and purged the pumps by turning the jets on and off. Everything appeared to work properly. I then added a bottle of the enzyme mix from Carefree Spa, called Le Natural Spa, which I have used for the last 6-8 months. Per instructions, I removed the filter, and added the solution to the filter housing. The instructions then called for me to circulate the spa for 15 minutes. I turned on the jets, and went about cleaning up. After about five minutes, the jets stopped. The jets "on" icon was still visible on the read out on the control board, but no jets operation. I tried to turn the jets off and then on, but to no avail. I checked the circuit board and no circuits had been tripped. I then cut the power to the spa at the circuit board, and let it sit for 30 minutes or so. When I powered it back up, but the jets would still not kick in. Instead, there was a clicking sound from the circuit boards, and I noticed that when I first pushed the jets button, a small green light would light at the very top of the smaller relay board, and then it would click and the very small green led light went out and the small red led light next to it would come on. Previously this had been a constant green. I tried turning off the heater at the circuit board, to see if the jets would then work with the heater out of the mix. That did not work. It was getting late, so I let the tub heat overnight. The heater brought the water temp to the set temperature during the night. In the morning, I went out and tried the jets again, and they came on, but once again after a few minutes they shut down. I have powered the spa down from the main circuit box and let sit for 30 minutes before powering up again, to no avail. At this point, all I get is the above described clicks and shift from the small green to red led on the top of the smaller relay board. I also tried inserting the hose with water turn on high into the filter housing tube to remove any air locks. Any ideas anyone?
  17. I've obtained (free) a 2002 Tiger River Bengal, 115 v Spa. 1st problem is jets only pulse when “Jets” button is pushed. Previous owner thought heater wasn’t working either. The LIM LED (green) is on. Heater has been set down to 80 so it doesn’t come on. When the heat is turned up after ~a minute SPA shuts off. When “Jets” button is pushed LED D18 flashes and the motor tries to get the jets going. You can hear the relays switching. I’ve bled air from lines, can hear motor running, can see shaft turning, can't tell if impeller is turning. The “comfort control system,” smart jet lever is turned to 3 o’clock. Water pulses out of “comfort control system” area. I’ve tried turning lever to other locations, it turns easily, though not sure it is actually moving. The Spa had been empty and unplugged for a couple years. Pretty sure I’ve got, at least 2 issues to resolve, Jets & heater.
  18. I have Tiger River hot tub- I am guessing it is an 02 or 03 model. The tub powers up then after a couple of hours the red Power light starts blinking and it stops heating. I reset the breakers and it works for a while and then the same thing happens. The more often that I do this the shorter the duration between the resetting of the breakers and the “Blinking of the Power light”. Maybe because the water is getting warmer in the tub? The tub never gets to the set temperature (maybe 10 degrees shy of it). I tested the thermistors- they were still good I have replaced both thermistors – same results I force purged the tub with a garden hose through the gray standpipe- same results I replaced the circ pump (The new one is considerably stronger) – same results I double checked that I didn’t have an air leek or air bubbles in the circ pump. The tub has a stereo- I have removed it and the its ac/dc convertor. I have removed the filters and tested it – same results If anyone has any advice on the next steps to diagnose this problem it would be greatly appreciated.
  19. My Tiger River spa heater has a manual reset. When I get a power surge, all power is lost to the house for a few seconds then comes back on, the reset will trip out. When this happens, I have to remove the spa side panel and push in the reset. The spa is located at a vacation home where these power surges are frequent. Also, the spa is built into a deck making access dificult. Once I reset the heater, it will work until the next surge which could be days, weeks or even months. Is there a solution for this?
