  1. My hot tub only heats for a while then stops it will not reach the selected temperature. Do you think it’s the thermostat I need to replace?
  2. I have a J-495. Temp set at and reads 98, but actual temp is 106. Is there an calibration / adjustment I can make without calling a technician to come out? Thanks, Jim.
  3. I inherited a nice little spa that has a nu-wave a24 control pack. It has run great, and since I only use it once or twice a week, I keep the temperature turned down by way of the control panel, and then turn it up a few hours before I need it. I went out last night to use it and was surprised to find that the control panel said it was at 101 degrees very quickly but when I felt the water, it was only luke warm. I'm guessing the thermostat has gone bad, but what do I know. I shut it down and when I restored power today it immediately read 90, which of course was wrong. Any ideas before I go replacing the thermostat to see if it fixes this? Thanks
  4. I have an early 90's 220v large ps-3 supra electric. If we're in it for more than an hour or so with jets on high the heat will shut off and the spa will cool down. If I just leave the next evening it's back to 104F from the filtration cycle and it's running hot again. The heat breaker is not tripped. I can generally tell what temp the spa thinks it's at by spinning the temp control and listening for when it clicks indicating its below the current temp. When this problem happens it acts as though it thinks it's at proper temp. This year I replaces the timer (timer motor stopped) and last year I replaced the heater element. Otherwise everything works great 99% of the time. The heat otherwise runs nice and hot now. I'm wondering if the thermostat could be dying and perhaps it's not as sensitive. -Robert
  5. Hello, I have a Island Spa Grand Bahama 54 jet made by Artesian from 2003. A year ago I had to change out the main control panel with a new one made by Gecko. SInce then My water temperature is not as hot as the top panel says it is. Just to test it I set the temperature on top panel to 102 degrees and left it all night. Next day I tested the water with 3 differant thermometers and they all read betwee 97 and 96 degrees. I have read that I should test the temperature probe. How do I get to it. I dont want to force that little cover thing off it because I don't know if I am suppose to. ALso I read some thermostats need to be calibrated. How do I get to the thermostat? ANd how do I know if this is the type to calibrate. Before this new control panel was put it the termperature was perfect. The new control panel did come with a new temperature probe but we just kept the old one in because we didn't know how to change it and figured that it was good. Thanks, Katie also is there a spell check on this board? I can't find it? Thanks for any help.
  6. Hi all, im new to the forum. I recently purchased a Vita Spa Vintage hot tub with a heat problem. I believe the element is bad but not to sure. After removing it I did an ohms reading and got .17 ohms. I checked Spa Depots website before I found this forum and they said most elements range from 9-12 ohms if they are good, and some can go up to 25 ohms. So far the high limit and thermostat tested good so im leaning towards the element. Its a 240v and from what the element cover says is 6000 watts. Any help would greatly be appreciated! Also is there any way to test the thermocouple? From what I can see i has 1 wire going directly to the high limit.
  7. Just recently purchased a Used 05 Artesian Antigua Spa. When I started up tub (a few days ago) the water temp has been stuck on 95 the entire time. U can adjust the water tempature and the other night when it was aabout 55 out I had tub at 95 and tub was about 106 next day set at 85 had temp at 95 now it is 45 out and water temperature is 85 no matter what I set tempature too. Im assumming heater is fine and that my issue is with a limit, relay, thermostat, or contol board. Someone that can lead me in the right direction would appretiated. Thank you for your time.
