  1. My parents had an old Hot Springs brand Sovereign model hot tub on their patio that they wanted me to move to make room for a storm shelter. They had used it until about 5 years ago. I thought, since I'm moving it, I'll just take it to my house. It works somewhat but I don't know how to use it I guess. I think it's a 1991 model and I can't find much info about it. Even the lady at the local store isn't sure. The water gets hot but it seems to only heat if the jets are running sometimes. Then sometimes I won't run them and thenwarer is boiling hot. Sometimes I don't run them and it's ice cold. There is a thermocouple looking wire hanging loose in there. I'm not sure where to put it and I don't know how to use the controls evidently. It'll be hot as hades and I'll turn the thermostat to a lower number and 2 days later the water is still hot as hades. I can hear it hum when I plug it in and don't have jets going. Is there a place to turn on the heater only? How does it heat the water if the water isn't circulating? What do I do with that wire that I assume is some kind of thermometer? My parents really can't remember how it worked. It just did, they say. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  2. Hi everyone, I have the possibility to buy a used Hotspring Highlife Sovereign spa of 2012´ (7 years old). Is this choice to be recommended (at 7000€) or is it better to put the price difference and buy a new one? My attention is mainly focused on: - water quality and maintenance required by the spa (are the new models easier to maintain?) - reliability (what is the life expectancy of this equipment?) Thank you for your answers, Alesissss
  3. I'm hoping I can get some help Its my job to take care of a brand new 2018 Hotspring Sovereign for a friend. Its was installed about 6 weeks ago and only used 3 times by my friend. Here is the problem the logo light will flash red after 3 to 4 hours. The hot top dealer had me clean the filters there's 3 , that didn't work after a few hours it started blinking red, then they had me take the filters out all together and run the tub still after a few hours the light is red and every time it goes red i have to reset the main breaker. They have had there service team out 3 times to correct the problem with no luck today they are coming again. Does anyone have any idear. Thank's Denny
  4. Hi. First time posting, and hope to get some advice on my 2003 Hot Springs Sovereign model. It takes a lot of direct sun and the wood skirt/siding has deteriorated badly and needs to be replaced all the way around. I've had contractors (not spa specialists) tell me that the cost would be prohibitive (2K) and I should just consider a replacement. Is there an easy, reasonable fix to replace the siding with something durable? I hate to toss an otherwise good spa, but have to do something because the inner insulation is now exposed and things will only get worse. Thanks.
  5. Hello, After moving our Hot Springs Sovereing (2003), the light does no longer function. I can see the icon on the display lighting up, but no light in the pool. I guess the first step is to replace the bulb. - What's the spare part for this? - Can this be done via the service panel, in a fairly simple manner? Thanks!
  6. I have a 2001 Hot Spring Sovereign. My heat wasn't working, so I just replaced the heater relay board with the new 77119 part for the IQ2020. Now I have heat and circulation, but the jets stopped working (wavemaster 7000 ver3). They were working previously, but do not anymore. The jet icon lights up on the control head, but no jets. Any ideas? What could I have done in replacing the heater relay board that affected the jets? Thanks, Ben
  7. Hi All, looking for some more help on spa repair. Thanks to this forum I got my tub working! It's awesome, and I love that all the parts are available online. My problem is that my control head works just fine, but the LCD display went bad. This is not ideal as I can't see the set temperature or any other read outs. The replacement control head is $263, but I'm hoping there is a way to just replace the LCD. Anyone done that before or know how? Seems like a waste to replace an entire control head (the front controls, not the whole iq2000 boad that is inside) when the LCD probably only costs $40 or less. Thanks
  8. Hot Springs Sovereign; I think we got it around 2000. S/N is IQ2A2015; it has the IQ2000 controls, and is wired for 220. Two GFCI breakers- a 20A that runs the controls and circulation pump, and a 50A for the heaters and main pump. After a brief power outage two days ago, every time I reset the smaller, 20A breaker, it instantly trips. I replaced the breaker but problem continues. After the power outage, water backed up into the Ozone unit. I've disconnected the Ozone electrically but no change in behavior. I removed the metal bracket that obstructs the main board, didn't see any obvious burn spots or other indications. While the bracket was off, I tried applying power and got a steady red light. I powered off to avoid the shocking hazard while replacing the bracket, and now it instantly trips the breaker again. I've also tried powering up without the thermistors attached, but no change. They measure 11.61 and 12.64; water may still be slightly warm. Any clues? At first it was just the red blinking light syndrome; now it won't come on at all, and instantly trips the 20A breaker (the control panel light flashes briefly until the breaker trips.) Thanks- Paul
  9. Okay, I am new to the hot tub world, but have purchased a 2003 HS Sovereign and need to know what chemicals I need and if there is a good (less expensive) online option for purchasing these. I am about an hour away from the nearest dealer so need to be able to do as much as possible on my own. Also, I saw where specific brands are referenced. Are there less expensive subs that can be used or do I need to stick the specific brands noted? Thank you so much in advance!!
