  1. Hi bought a house very cheap because solar that heated pool on roof leaked causing a hole in roof. Now solar was removed and pool plumbing (Solar)capped off. So when I turn on my pump it works fine however when I go to hook up pool sweep in skimmer it does not move it’s almost as if the pump stops working also. I’ve checked for leaks on hose on lid at unions I’ve used a drain bladder at pump and skimmer. However there is a Jandy valve that is labeled solar on one side and pool the other when I turn valve to pool I hear a rush of water in pipes at pump I’m not used to hearing however it actually makes the pool sweep move. I’m not sure what this valve does nor can I figure anything out due to prior solar and my limited knowledge. Also why does my pool have 2 drains at the bottom? I will attach photos The black pipes are the ones I hear the rush of water. Thank you
  2. It's finally time for me to update my inground pool. At 17 years of age, the liner was still the original (RIP - literally). I wanted to fill the thing in, but my wife feels it could be a thing of beauty once again. I lost the battle. My conditions for keeping the pool included spending money on a robotic bottom/side cleaner, and a robotic solar surface skimmer. I also got a Pentair SuperFlow VS pump and a Hayward saltwater chlorinator. Keeping my Sta-rite filter and heater. I know I won't be maintenance free - but as close as you can get in Pennsylvania with lots of trees and shrubs around the pool. To my topical question, has anybody had experience with the Solar Breeze NX? It seems like it should be a valuable unit for a pool with lots of surrounding vegetation, pollen, pine needles, and periodic mammal carcasses. Every year I have issues with pine needles getting into the pump impeller and I'm really sick of ripping it apart, not to mention frequent filter wahing. My goal here is to reduce the amount of cleaning. Evidently, you let it charge daily with its own built-in solar cells and let it run. I have a committed order with the company for one but wanted any input you folks might have. The website of the company is https://solar-breeze.com/. Te thing is pretty expensive, but COULD be worth it if it works. Thanks ahead of time from a new member
  3. i have a new 12ft diameter outdoor pool, just bought a solar cover for it. However, I'd like to use a chlorinator as i've been told they're good at keeping the levels just right. can a chlorinator be anchored down in the middle of the pool (a bit like a bouy) so it doesn't touch the solar cover. If the filter is on and the water is moving, then i can't see the problem.
  4. Where is a good place to buy a cheap solar pool heating system? I'm in Sydney, NSW but I don't mind ordering from the net if the cost is right. I have had some expensive quotes from some of the local stores, I'm just questioning if there are good deals out there. Even I am looking for such supplier/ manufacturer who take personal interest on my requirement and give me the best option to buy solar pool heater. The pool I'm looking at will be approx 10m x 20m with a structured deep end.
