  1. i have a HAYWARD sp1515-z-1-esc it is 1.5 HP . its been a daunting task to attempt to repair this pump. it wasnt turning at all. so i decided to take it apart . i was able to do that but couldnt without first breaking the four thru bolts. well i did remove the armature it was really corroded .. so after cleaning everything up,and putting it all back together. I now have a free turning armature. unfortunately i have to plug in the pump and give it a quick turn with a srewdriver for it to start turning. But here is the problem it only turns for about 5 to 7 seconds before it starts smoking. i am not sure if its the plate that has the switch thats giving me the problem. if it is i cant find anywhere that has any parts for this OLD pump.
  2. I just finished building the body of exercise pool with a dimension of 8'x16'x52" and I am about to start the plumbing work. I have two 2hp regular pool pumps and want to know whether I can use one of them to driving jets to make a strong enough water current for exercise. If it is too weak, then what kind of special pump I need for this purpose and what specifications of this kind of pump I should know. Hoep someone can advise me on this technical issue. Another question I have is the jet I put on the pool is not adjustable. Is there other way to make the current adjustable? Thanks, Victor
  3. We have an inground pool i think its about 25,000 gallons, There was a two speed hayward motor 230V connected to a hayward filter DE with cartridges. on the pressure gauge on the bleed valve it cycles from 0 to 10 lbs. These are a list of things we have done to try to fix it. 1. I replaced it with a used single speed centurion pump/motor and it does the same exact thing 2. we even dug out the concrete next to the pool and tried to see if there was a leak in the pipes right next to the pool 3. turn the valve on the pump to bypass the filter and it does the same thing 4. we had a tech out and they said to replace the motor/pump so that is why we tried a used pump just to see it does the same thing 5. we used a drain king at the skimmer and there is water flow from the skimmer to the pump The only thing i can think of, is the pipe between the skimmer and the pump is broken/cracked/split somewhere? Any ideas???? it has been very frustrating, we even replumbed all the piping at the pump when we put in the single speed pump Thanks Dennis
