  1. We recently got a used Dimension One, Amore Bay spa. When we fill it, water starts leaking from the ozonator. We just purchased a new ozonator, and that one is also leaking. Not sure if we are doing something wrong, or the part was bad. I am attaching a video, don’t mind me talking. The company is sending out a new part. Any help is greatly appreciated! 34314A11-1903-4494-9683-3A4B133B2C51.MOV
  2. We are in the midst of researching hot tubs. We found a 'scratch & dent' 6 person tub at a Royal Spa that fits us well but is $9,950. We both really liked that the sales person was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and not salesy. And they are only half hour from our house in case we need to have service. However, we then discovered Bullfrog. After sitting in the A7 (not a wet test, at that time) my husband felt that it was the most comfortable (he's 6'2") and there was plenty leg room, which is a struggle with most tubs for him. We don't really need one that large so I called the closest place to us (that's an hour and fifteen minutes from our house) and that is having a sale & got quoted on an A6 at $8,500. For the $1000 price savings I would DEFINITELY prefer the Bullfrog. HOWEVER, two things I wanted to ask. I noticed that the Bullfrog only offers a 1yr warranty on its ozonator and the replacement cost is around $600!!! Yikes. Does anyone know WHY these things go out so frequently? Also, I read that some think you don't need it if you don't mind using more chemicals. How much should I expect to be spending on chemicals IF the ozonator is actually working vs is not working? Secondly, am I getting in bed with the wrong dealer here by choosing someone who is 1hr 15min from my house? The dealer said they WILL service the tub but they also want to charge me $250 for delivery since it's so far. Hm. Gives me a bit of a pause. Would really love to know your thoughts & opinions! If the quality & reliability of the tub is truly amazing then maybe the distance of the dealer for servicing is not a big deal and I should just take that risk to have a Cadillac of the industry? In my research, it seem that they are the only manufacturer who includes labor as part of the warranty coverage so that gives me a little bit more comfort. However, I have not inquired yet whether they would charge me for labor like they are for delivery...I'm planning to do that when I go in person to do a wet test in a couple days. So, PLEASE share your thoughts on & experiences with Bullfrog Spas. MUCH THANKS!!!
  3. We have a Sundance Altamar 850 (2003). Had a persistent FLO2 error last month and after 14 years replaced the FLO switch. All good. This morning we woke up to a solid FLO error. We replaced both filters and made sure all connections were good and that resolved itself. Now there is no light on the Ozonator and obviously no ozone icon on the panel. We unplugged the connector and checked the tub side to make sure there was power. There is. The ozonator is only a year old. So before I call for service which is expensive in my area, suburbs of Detroit, I am hoping for any and all suggestions. We have the Spa Eclipse Unit for our tub. The circ pump runs 24 hr. There is a good stream of small bubbles coming from the outlet in the tub. All jets seem to be working as they should. If in fact it was a bad unit my fingers are crossed that they will stand behind it. In the meantime, I am trouble shooting Thanks in advance, Debbie
  4. We just recently bought a 440 gallon Divine hot tub with 24 hour circulation pump and Del Ozonator. I really like the simplicity of chlorine and good experience with my pool swg so I decided to purchase a ControlOMatic ChlorMaker DO. I have recently learned how ozonators will oxidize the chlorine along with everything else, I just haven't been able to find the rate at which it will oxidize the chlorine. As far as bather load we will prob use it at least every night or every other night (1-3 bathers). I have also read that the ozone can break down a spa cover faster, is this true? How much faster? Is this reason enough to unplug the ozonator?
  5. i am purchasing a 575 hydropool and was wondering if an ozonator is worth it and is it all that its cracked up to be and what should it cost
  6. Hotsprings instructs users to put all chemicals only into the filter compartment. We are using bromine granules, and coincidentally?? the only time my water remained clear is after I put the bromine in the main tub area rather than filer area. Is this a coincidence? Background I have a new hotsprings Pulse spa and the water was cloudy after several days. I discovered the installer put the ozonator check valve in backwards. After many attempts with dealer to fix the chemistry, we finally drained and refilled tub, Then followed all instructions and water became cloudy after a few days, I proceeded to put in bromine 2.5 tablespoons for 380 gal tub. After 16 hours no free bromine detected. Ph 7.2 and alkalinity 122 water still cloudy Next I put in 4 tablespoons (super shock) but this time directly into tub not thru filter area (I also changed filter) Note "older" filter is only 1 month old and has been rinsed every week. Left cover off for 6 hours. Now finally water is clear. What was the problem?? Filter, putting bromine into filter area, check valve? other?? Lastly Should I switch to tablets or chlorine

  8. Ok all you hot tub heros, I'm a first time hot tub owner and we've had our 2013 Hot Springs Vanguard since sept. 18, 2014. When they came out and set it up, hooked up the Ace system, balanced our water, and we have been fighting our free chlorine ever since. Several weeks into it they recommended that we have the ozonator disconnected, which we did. They just disconnected (not plugged off) the line and we are still having trouble with the free chlorine. We are using the tub twice a day 7 days a week for 20 mins in the evening and 15 mins in the morning. All other chems are within range, ozonator is disconnected, water hardness is good, ect.... Could my problem possibly be the Ace system itself just simply not producing chlorine? I have the output level set at 7 right now, but to no avail. I have to put 2 teaspoons of shock in it every morning, and this is raising my CYA levels too much, Is this normal?
  9. My Hotsprings Spa Watkins Freshwater III ozonator from 2009 has finally failed. This version has a curved top housing. I've noticed that the present Watkins Freshwater III ozonators have the same name but are a different form. Can someone tell me the changes or improvements on the newer version? I found someone that has the old style for sale but if there are improvements with the new version I'll get that instead. Are there improvements or did they just change packaging or perhaps the supplier? Thanks in advance.
  10. My wife and I bought a Hot Spring hot tub back in August and have had consistent chlorine issues (or so we suspect) from the very beginning. Here are our basic specs... Hot Springs Pulse (400 gallons) Ozonator Silver Ion system We use our tub about 3-4 times a week and are very careful about lotions and long hair getting in the tub. Foam and cloudiness haven't been much of an issue. Our big issue is that once we add chlorine (or oxidizer for that matter), it is all but gone by the next day. Since we have an ozonator AND the silver ion system, what should our chloride level be? 3ppm is the acceptable level for a typical tub, but what about ours with these additional purification measures? We have been told that it can be lower. Is this true? If so, what ppm is our target? Our dealer has not been very helpful with our water chemistry to date. We seem to get different answers each time we take water samples in to be tested. Their answers always seem to involve more chemicals, which feels wrong based on our tub's systems, but we don't know what else to do. This should not be this hard. We have drained the tub once and have been cleaning our filter regularly. Help!
  11. I have a used hot tub I'm trying to get working correctly. Is it correct that my Marquis Euphoria, when on circulation/heat cycle, is only moving water through the pipes on one side of my hot tub? Both sides work when I turn on the pumps, and the blowers work. The right pump (160?) is pretty hot but sounds as though it is working. Also, it is my understanding that if the ozonator is working it will "glow". Should the glow be very obvious? I ask because I see no appreciable glow, in daylight at least, when in the ciruclate/heat cycle.
