I am setting up an artic spa bandit GP manufacture date 03/11. Onzen system. Just filled it up not too long ago for the first time after being out of service for many years. Currently the pH is high (~8) and salt is a little high (3000ppm) and I working on brining them both down by diluting and pH down chemical. After 48 hours I have no sign of free chlorine and I am concerned the onzen system isn't working. I have seen bubbles/smoke from the anode, but I want to confirm by running a sanitizer production test as outlined in the onzen technical manuals (attached). Problem is the menus for my tub seem different. I can't get to the screen to show sett - it only flips through FF and FD... I assume because I have any older version. I have FF set to 4 (highest possible setting) and FD set to 2 (highest possible setting). Any insights are helpful - thanks very much! Onzen-Manual.pdf

Hello All This question is to all Arctic Spa owners who use Onzen (Salt System) How often do you change an Electrode (cell) ? Any way to make it last longer ? They have 5 plate and 3 plate version - will 5 plate one last longer ? What is the main reason it breaks ? Will cleaning it every month help ? Looks like it could be a huge maintenance issue - Electrode(every 3 month) + PH Probe (every year) 4 Electrodes + probe a year = 110*4+220 = $660 a year!! + salt and chemicals. Would be nice to hear the system owners Thanks Thank you !

I have a breand new Arctic ocean swim spa & while I'm happy with it so far, I am not happy with how much $ it may cost me to keep it balanced. I have the saltwater/ozone option but I've been told to shock it after every use (which is daily for one person). Since it is 1600 gallons, it needs 10-14 oz each day, which is about $4/day or $120/mo, which I wasn't counting on. That's the price from my dealer's brand (Apollo) and all it says on the bottle is "contains Potassium Monopersulfate". I've found better deals elsewhere, but I can't tell if they have the same formula. One says 43% PPMS...does anyone know if that will work? Appreciate any guidance...1st time spa owner.
