  1. First time owner... I have an older Coleman Tahoe that has a Balboa BOARD MAAX 460 EL2000 M3 control board. My issue started with a HoT error a few days ago that reset itself once it cooled down... Except it clearly wasn't overheated, it was cool. Eventually it reset itself once it seemed to cool down and read the correct temp. A few days later there was a low level alarm but topped it off and it cleared. Then yesterday found an OHH error, that won't clear. Pump 1 will run on low for a few minutes but nothing changes on the display, still just flashing OHH. No buttons respond on the display. Tried pulling temp sensors to get them to reset, but no response. Waiting for Balboa to respond with and instruction/ white sheets for troubleshooting but need some help knowing what direction to go or how to do a manual reset.
  2. I'm having an OHH code on my beachcomber hot tub I just replaced the smaller pump as the last one burned out. I filled from the filter housing, opened the bleed screw and drained all the air through there, everything seemed okay last night but when I checked it this morning it was still cold and there was a SNB code I pulled the sensor out (lots of water no air) and also unplugged it and sprayed with electrical contact cleaner Now instead of a SNB code I'm getting the OHH as soon as I turn on the breaker even if it has sat for a few minutes I also tried unplugging the b sensor and there was still an OHH code right away. Maybe needed more time to reset though ? Hoping it's not a circuit board. Don't really wanna keep throwing parts at it. Everything was working fine before the pump burnt out Any help appreciated ! Thanks!
  3. Hey Guys and Gals, I'm really hoping someone here can help me as I'm at a total loss... I recently moved into a new rental home and there is a nice 2006 Spa Coleman Hot Tub outback. It looks brand new. The owner of the property indicated it wasn't working but he would spend up to 200 on parts if I did the work to which I agreed to see if we can get it going. So first off it hasn't ran in about a year. The water in the tub is stone cold maybe 40 some degrees. When you power on the breaker the tub goes through what appears to be a self check and flashes 100 then 21 then 114 then 240 and then goes direct to an OHH (Overheat Code). I have verified DIP Switch 3 is on and all others are off as shown on the panel diagram. My immediate thought was one of the M7 sensors on the inline Balboa heater were bad. After pricing the 2 sensors I decided to just replace the entire heater with both sensors. The new heater cam today and I installed with both new M7 sensors it just fine with no issues and sure enough it still loads to the OHH screen. I am completely locked out of the panel all it will display is OHH and there is no function. Here are a few more factors that may help someone with more knowledge than me come to a conclusion... 1.) I can't find a rest button anywhere other than the GFCI Reset on the breaker panel. I have looked on the board and all along the power in cord. Am I Missing Something? 1A.) I have hosed out the filter. 2.) When I leave the power to the tub even though the OHH remains on the tub does go into its standard cycle and powers on jets to circulate water every 15 minutes. 3.) If I switch on DIP Switch 10 I get message CFE then A10. Which I understand is a programing mode for the factory and not supposed to be used by the end user. I didn't mess with it to screw up programing but did this to verify the board is in fact communicating with the topside panel. In my logic this says the board is working at least somewhat. 4.) Could it be the sensor inside the tub? That will be a bear to change the way its on the tub so I'm hoping to stay away from that if it's not the likely culprit. At the end of the day it's not my hot tub but I have a 2 year lease here and am willing to spend a few bucks to get it going. The one local spa place here charges 200 just to come out and have a look and then 150 per hour which I can't afford for just a diagnostic! Please help! I'd love to hear if you've ever experienced this or something similar and what the fix was. Happy New Year Everyone! Justin
  4. 2009 Marquis Epic Spa Arrived at spa to find it cold and no power. Found GFI tripped. Reset GFI and panel powered up and displayed HOT. No controls will work. Set dip switch one to ON, cycled power. Set dip switch one to OFF and cycled power. HOT code cleared and now displays OHH. Found #1 Spa Pump failed with bearing locked up. Replaced Pump with new. Cleaned spa and filters. New pump turned on and ran for 1 min and shut down with flashing OHH code. Using meter, measured spa heater element disconnected at 10.5 ohms. With heater disconnected it has no effect or change to code. Measured water temp in tub at 65 deg. Measured water temp inside heater core at 65 deg. Measured Balboa M7 sensors at 36,100 ohms (69.3 degrees) and other at 37,210 ohms (68.1 degrees). I am using Balboa Temp & High Limit Sensor Chart. At one point the pumps turned on and I had full control from top control panel. Temp set for 89 deg. Temp indicated 111 deg. It then went to 112 deg and pump turned off and OHS code appeared. While it was working I had the filters removed and had excellent flow from both pumps. Cycled power again and OHS code cleared and OHH code immediately appeared. At this point I have no control at top panel and nothing works. Approximately every two hours pump 1 turns on low for 1 minute with OHH code flashing and pump turns off within 1 minute. I replaced upper control panel at the same time as pump. Checked all fuses and all check good. Power to GFI checks good. Power at Spa Circuit board checks good at 241.9 volts. Red to White 120.8 volts. Black to white 120.8 volts. Could my circuit board be causing the problem?
  5. I have a 2003 Catalina spa. After a power outage, the spa keeps giving the OHH error code. When I flip the breaker, wait a few minutes, then flip on, the spa goes into prime mode, but within a few minutes throws the OHH code again and shuts down. The water is cool, so I know it's not truly overheating. I have replaced the M7 sensors as that was the first issue after power was restored. I found that one of the sensors had gone out. I've checked the flow and it is good. Another article I read here mentions a diode being bad on the circuit board. How do I locate and repair this diode? Thanks in advance for any help!!
  6. I have an (to me) odd issue with an OHH code that keeps popping back up. Temp is set to 102F. It´s a Balboa system with a 3kW heater. What I have tried: Changing filter Running without a filter All jets on Changed water When water was changed, tried to flush between filten to where the hot water comes out into the tub Verified that circ pump works (I can feel and see water coming out in the tub) After the water was changed, it did get up in temp but then ended up with OHH again. I was thinking that maybe the circ pump sometimes failed to start, but I then changed so that the circ pump was running 24/7. This worked for roughly 30 hours before another OHH. It is now fall here in Sweden, with temps around 40-45F. My current ideas are pretty much 1) still the circ pump, 2) the header or sensors therein or 3) the circuit board. Don´t know where to go from here though - I don´t want to by a part by chance. Any other tests I can do? Thanks!
  7. A few year old (4-5?) legends series lsx masterspas tub. It is throwing a few different codes, SnS, dr, then dry (and sometimes Ohh) I suspect these are all related, maybe a non working circ. pump? I have tried to bleed the circ pump, I have checked the head of the circ pump for ease of propeller spinning and no clog. I have turned power off for 5 minutes after each attempt, still not good. (I also started with trying to run without filters, which are clean, just in case was a simple flow issue) Symptoms are that it is not heating. All three pumps seems to work, 2 at both of their speeds, and pump three at its only speed. It does, sometimes, rapidly raise the detected temp. up to the 118 shut off limit, but not always. Water temp is in the 65-75 range right now, as it's not been working for a few days, and it's getting into the 40's-50's at night up here in New England. Upon opening the front, there is a small pump maid by "Laing" that says circ. pump, and I don't seem to see this running. But truthfully, I don't remember if my circ. pump ever ran on its own? Never really paid attention. It does connect directly to the heater tube tho, so being that the dr and dry codes mean not enough water in the heater tube, am I correct in assuming that it is not pushing water into the heater and should start by replacing this? I'd hate to replace it, to find that it's a sensor or something, since the other two codes point to them as well. .? Please help, I am unemployed and can't afford serious costly service reps, but my wife has a bad back and needs this tub working. Thanks in advance, John
