  1. Ok guys, LONG post sorry, Fairly new pool owner, this is the third year for our pool and we just took the cover off last week. (Its not pretty) The first year we were all chlorine, last year we converted to salt so we had some adjusting to get use to that, we did shock the pool before we closed it last year and I guess did not check the PH afterwards and closed it (Amateur pool owners here… Insert facepalm emoji) PH was VERY high when we checked it. SOOO when we took the cover off, got the pump running, we always vacuum first to get everything off the liner, but noticed there was a scale on the bottom that wasn’t going anywhere.. Calcium??? Im guessing?? Its pretty bad. First pic is our pool last year, second is the pool this year with the scale on the bottom of the liner AFTER it was vacuumed, third pic is what the PH was when we checked it this year when we took cover off. … We did get the PH down to about 6.8 and all other levels are good as well now, but my questions is, Did I ruin my liner?? It’s a big pool, 50,000 gallons and that liner alone is over 3 grand here in MO! How do I get this off??? HELP!! I have been brushing the bottom, but its on there pretty good, will a scale free remover help this?? Or is it too bad??
  2. Hello, I have lay-z spa Miami (54123) 2123N 11-25-2013. Its old so I have about 5 holes, where air leaking, but last summer and this summer every time I found it easy with soup and water and fix it. Now I do not know how the air disappears, because I spry about ten times all lazy spa with soup and water mix and no bubbles... I try it so many times, but no bubbles in any place... Also I try other screw valvet from bestway mattress, who looks same, but also air disappears... What to check or what to try to do? How to find where air leaking? Inflated with full and unpolluted water, enough air is released within 5 hours, so hole or smth must be not so small....
  3. I recently was in the process of a partial drain of 2 feet of water. I was just about finished when I noticed that the liner has significantly shifted. I have attached a photo. What can I do here? Will this go back to normal when I fill the pool back up? Any advice would be very much appreciated.
  4. Hi, I have an inground 22x42 vinyl pool with aluminum coping. Replacing liner and was considering bullnose coping. Had pavers with 1' border installed about 10 years ago when we moved in. Mason is saying that in order to do bullnose, we should peel back 3ft in order to "even out". He wants to charge $2150 to do the bullnose and $3150 to do the peel back part. Already spending a lot to do the liner and not sure about the need for going back so far. Any advice? thanks!
  5. Looking for direction on what to do. We are planning to replace our pool liner in the spring (we can do it now if that makes better sense) due to a continued leak in the liner which sits at the very bottom of the pool. We lose approximately 2-3 inches of water per week. Should we even bother to winterize and close if we are planning to replace the liner? I am expecting that we will have to refill the pool every so often during the winter months so not to loose too much water to avoid compromising the walls. Is there any benefit to winterizing if we are planning to replace? Any concerns with leaving it open all winter? I live in Chicago so winter weather can be brutal. Thanks!
  6. I have a friend that I cannot convince to have my company install her pool. She is buying a pool kit online, and after having looked at it, I think it will probably be all right and I intend to help as much as possible. Are there any members here that can help me with probably some really stupid questions on pool construction? It's going to be a rectangle 6R 16x32 48" walls with 8ft deep end. I guess my first question would be...where can I find some good instructional videos? My primary initial concerns are leveling the walls and installing the main drains. thanks in advance and sorry I don't come around here more often :-)
