  1. I bought a used Spa and somewhere in the transporation I did something. Inside the cover there is a hose that has a Stainless steel mesh cover which I figure is the air intake for the jets well there is a leak coming from outside this pipe not in, but outside. So 1 where could I get a schematic for this model (Nautilus) by Dimension One or does someone have any Idea as to what is happening. Thanks
  2. Hello, I have a Tiger River Spa Siberian Model L that recently started leaking from the drain valve. I was taking off the service panel door and the corner hit the drain pipe (I didn't think it hit that hard...) and it started a pretty solid leak (I'd estimate a gallon a minute). Only the tip of the drain pipe sticks out from the housing, as you can see in the attached picture, and from what I saw the leak is further back where you can't get to or see. I'm actually looking to sell this hot tub, but obviously I don't want to sell this to someone with this leak. Is this something that I could fix myself, or do I need to hire a professional for this? If so, what would something like that cost and what would it entail? The hot tub came with the house, so I'm not even sure how old it is, but judging from what years this model was made it seems to be 15-20 years old. Given that, what price should I be selling this hot tub for? Before I decided to sell it, I bought a new cover for $600 since the old one was waterlogged, and I was also planning to give the buyer all the chemicals, test strips, spare filters and the water pump I have since I won't need it without the tub. Is $1000 a good price?
  3. Hi, Im looking for some advice on my Hawaii Lazy spa hot tub. The water level has increased from minimum to over the maximum level from rain water. I have own two previous hot tubs albeit Palm Springs and have never had this issue. I sweep water from the top when I see it but with this hot tub it seems like the water is filtering through the lid into the hot tub. Bestway told me that the lid is not waterproof because it’s breathable so water will seep into the hot tub. Anyone else had excess water level due to rain water? The picture attached shows the hot tub now, I filled it to minimum level marker and the lid is bulging due to the excess water. Thank you
  4. Hi, I've got a J355 that's sprang a leak from the other side of the filter housing. If I fill the filter dipwell with water the side that runs under the tub leaks some where. Not the side that's attached to the slo-mo pump. So, I'm trying to get a handle on where to dig through the hard packed foam to follow that plumbing and see where the leaks is. Where does that pipe lead to? Any pluming schematics available on the J355? Attached a pic highlighted in yellow for that filter down pipe that leaking under the tub somewhere across.
  5. What percent of hot tubs leak each year? Are leaks going to occur in every tub and it is just a matter of when and if you own it long enough? I have not been able to get a sense of this except that it seems like repair people are busy and leaks are one of the things they address (top thing?). Besides the obvious reasons why I am wondering is that I like the maax 480, but the blue jean insulation has me choosing another tub. I really like this insulation and used it in a room addition that had almost no plumbing anywhere and in a warm climate. But, now the tub will be in a very cold climate and if this insulation gets wet on the bottom of the tub especially, it seems to me that it will never dry out between the cold and inability to get any air flow to that part of the tub. So, this will kill the insulation value while it remained soggy, making the tub more expensive to run and need to run it more often to keep pipes from being damaged if it was in winter during a week where the high temps may be 10. I can not gauge the risk of this happening because I have no clue about frequency of tub leaks. If over a 10 yr period there is a 1% chance of developing a leak, that risk level of potentially developing into a nightmare may be one answer. However if it is 20%+ of hot tubs develop leaks over a 10 yr period, that risk level is too high, for sure, for me. I am all, but convinced that the risk is too high for my situation, but wanted to know, if anybody has stats, data, an educated guess based on something?
  6. My spa has a slow but steady leak that looks like it is coming from one of the split nuts on the Balboa Heater. Does anyone know if this is common? I have read that I need to replace heater, but the unit was working OK before the leak. Looking for suggestions on fix from experts and others. Thank you.
  7. Hi there, - new to this forum, but need some advice. Over the last 3 years, our spa (which is next to the inground pool and has a spillway from spa to pool), has been slowly leaking water out onto the concrete tiles which surround the spa, the spa is about 1 metre above these tiles, but the water is leaching through and a small puddle develops when the pumps to clean the pool go on, and water is pushed through the spa into the pool. I have been told by a handyman (who has tried using a sealer that he uses to waterproof showers) that there are many hairline cracks in the wall of the spa, which is probably causing the problem. I have also heard of waterproof membranes that you can buy and apply. I am fearing that the spa may have to be knocked down and built again, BUT - was just wondering if anyone else had any suggestions, as I am getting pretty desparate, and running out of ideas...... Any suggestions would be much appreciated......
