  1. Hi folks, I moved into a new home recently with an old tub. I noticed a slow leak where the PVC joins the pump. I figured no big deal, new o-ring and some plumbers tape will fix. I pushed down the slice valves and turned them (see pics showing closed valves). They closed easily, no issues. However, when I detached the pump the water came gushing out... I waited a bit figuring was just water on the other side of the valve... But it never stopped. Has anyone had an issue where closing slice valves appears to do nothing? Didn't appear to even slow the flow. Any suggestions?
  2. I have a very old (20+) years Garden Leisure spa. It's circular and only seats four people at the most. I recently replaced the GFCI plug receptacle successfully, but upon filing, there is a small leak from the pipe connection just before the valve. The water drips off the bottom of the valve, but is in fact coming from the pipe connection to it. See photos. I'm not sure what valve this is, as we no longer have the manual and information online is impossible to find, but it appears to be a gate valve. There's only one pump. Is there an easy way to patch this leak without replacing the valve? If I do have to replace the valve, can it be replaced with only PVC pipe and forget about the valve? Thanks for your help. 3. My hot tub heater is leaking on one side of it on both pipes. What would anyone suggest to seal it or fix it. Do I need a new heater?
  4. I have the above hot tub and it's leaking quite badly. We've had the heater replaced and the pump is slightly leaking but not enough to explain the loss of water. We have Tri-X filters and I'm wondering: if the screw top which fixes them in place is not screwed in at all, would this would explain the leak or if the filters are damaged in any way whether the water would leak out I look forward to any thoughts. Best wishes
  5. We recently got a used Dimension One, Amore Bay spa. When we fill it, water starts leaking from the ozonator. We just purchased a new ozonator, and that one is also leaking. Not sure if we are doing something wrong, or the part was bad. I am attaching a video, don’t mind me talking. The company is sending out a new part. Any help is greatly appreciated! 34314A11-1903-4494-9683-3A4B133B2C51.MOV
  6. New to this forum. I have a 2013 Hot Spring Limelight series hot tub which I have had zero issues with until recently. I noticed the display letters/numbers started flickering and going off and on intermittently. Luckily, I was able to turn off the pumps and lights before the control head totally died! I removed the panel from the tub body and disassembled it, only to find that the silicon pad (3 buttons) on the left side which controls the jets and "mode up" and "mode down" settings was cracked around the base, allowing water to penetrate into the head and drip right onto the circuit board. My thoughts are this is a very poor design and if there was even a cover over the circuit board to divert water away from dripping directly onto the board, this never would have happened. Also, any parts searches are showing this control head as a complete assembly when it is easily able to be disassembled by removing a few screws. Does anyone know of a place where I can order the separate components that I need rather than having to shell out $320. plus shipping for a new unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I've got a Caldera Geneva hot tub that I bought new in the fall of 2012. Aside from replacing the cover this year, I've really not had any major issues with it up until now. Yesterday, I noticed water on the ground around the edge of the spa. I pulled the side panel off to check things out. There was water around the circulation pump. It was leaking out slowly. It appears to be leaking from the large ring that you can tighten with a pair of channel lock pliers. I tightened the ring but it did nothing to stop the leak. My questions are: Is there an O ring that I can change within the large ring in the middle that I tried to tighten? If there is an O ring, where can I buy it? If there is no O ring, do I need to replace the whole pump? If I need to replace the whole pump, where is a good place to buy one? I've attached pictures to show you what I'm dealing with.
  8. What percent of hot tubs leak each year? Are leaks going to occur in every tub and it is just a matter of when and if you own it long enough? I have not been able to get a sense of this except that it seems like repair people are busy and leaks are one of the things they address (top thing?). Besides the obvious reasons why I am wondering is that I like the maax 480, but the blue jean insulation has me choosing another tub. I really like this insulation and used it in a room addition that had almost no plumbing anywhere and in a warm climate. But, now the tub will be in a very cold climate and if this insulation gets wet on the bottom of the tub especially, it seems to me that it will never dry out between the cold and inability to get any air flow to that part of the tub. So, this will kill the insulation value while it remained soggy, making the tub more expensive to run and need to run it more often to keep pipes from being damaged if it was in winter during a week where the high temps may be 10. I can not gauge the risk of this happening because I have no clue about frequency of tub leaks. If over a 10 yr period there is a 1% chance of developing a leak, that risk level of potentially developing into a nightmare may be one answer. However if it is 20%+ of hot tubs develop leaks over a 10 yr period, that risk level is too high, for sure, for me. I am all, but convinced that the risk is too high for my situation, but wanted to know, if anybody has stats, data, an educated guess based on something?
  9. Hello, I have a Hayward Super II Pump SP3010X15AZ that is leaking from the top. I had a pool professional look at it and they replaced the housing gasket. It was still leaking after they replaced the gasket and then indicated that the seal plate may be cracked. In looking at where it is leaking and researching on the internet everything I have read still points to the gasket as being the issue. It is leaking from the top, between the seal plate and the pump housing. Before I order parts I wanted to see if someone could provide me with an educated guess if I should order the seal plate and another gasket? Or could something else be causing this leak? Thank you!
