  1. I just finished building the body of exercise pool with a dimension of 8'x16'x52" and I am about to start the plumbing work. I have two 2hp regular pool pumps and want to know whether I can use one of them to driving jets to make a strong enough water current for exercise. If it is too weak, then what kind of special pump I need for this purpose and what specifications of this kind of pump I should know. Hoep someone can advise me on this technical issue. Another question I have is the jet I put on the pool is not adjustable. Is there other way to make the current adjustable? Thanks, Victor
  2. So the low speed jets that circulate the water and gets the water hot was working fine. Then I did test using the test trip to check chemical levels and it was high for ph so used spa down and got that to the ideal level also it was low on bromine it was a pink shade so just one less then the first ideal level so I thought I added the correct amount it said 4 teaspoons to every 200 gallon water and i think mine is 1200 gallons and I actually put in less then that maybe for like 600 gallons since it was close to the ideal level. I waited the 30 minutes I did a test again and it was at the highest level dark purple. So at that point i went and got a bucket and filled it up with water and poured it in there to dilute the water and also turned on the jest to high so it would circualte around more and lower it a little quicker. After that I waited 10 minutes and when back out I noticed the low speed pump was running but no water was circulating on that side. None of them and they valves on the jets are open. I pressed the jet button again and it went to high and still nothing. If I press the option button to turn on the other side jets they come on fine and same with the blow for doing the swimming or laps. I though maybe there was air in the line and i tried all the steps like pressing the pump buttons every 10 seconds. I also tried to bleed it using the bleeder valve it and the union nut too and even removed the filters too. I just never stuck a hose in there like one of things I saw online said. The other steps I did was in my manual and still nothing. During all these processes the display showed HH meaning the heater over heated and the censor kicked it off. I noticed to the night before the walls where the water was touching in the shell felt kind of scummy or ruff but would come off after rubbing it sum. I havent had this water in there for a long time I just got this swim spa used and was working fine and everything and looked in like brand new condition and filled a couple of days prior and was waiting for it to heat up to the correct temp I had only been in it twice before this issue but throughout the day for a total of several hourd to 5 hours for each day. When I first filled it and was heating up I had to use calcium hardness to the swim spa cause it was low and I got that to the ideal level as it matched the color. Did this happen cause I added too much bromine or what could be the problem? What about the ruff feel on the walls. Is that mean there is to much calcium? It shows it at the second shade on the ideal level or What do I need to do to get the water flowing again?
  3. Hi everyone, long time no visit.... I've had two babies since I was last here... anyway, you were a great resource before I hope so again. I was doing the fall clean out of the tub, and while unscrewing the jets, I was shocked to find 100% failure of the small 3" jets .... a small plastic disk in the back of each one had either fallen out, or stuck in the jet. I"ll try to attch some photos. Any ideas? I was asked to switch over all my jets in 2008 to this new screw in kind.... I was shocked 100%? what are the chances?
  4. Hi All, I purchased a used 2003 Landmark S Hot Spring Spa. All is working well besides the moto massage jet. This seems to be the only jet not functioning in the tub. I just replaced all 5 filters and ensured that no clogs are present. I assume the jet is broken but know nothing about it... thus the post. What are your thoughts? What should i check? Am i able to repair this on my own? What type of costs am i looking at if replacing by myself or hiring professional? Looks like the best seat in the house but no jets Thank you
  5. I just picked up a used tiger spa that worked fine at the original owners house. I filled with water and tried the jets..it just surged ..... I let it surge for 5 mins looking for clogs in the filter and found nothing. then the jets finally pushed out water ...but then none of buttons would respond.. killed power for 1 min. then powered it on and the jets just surged again.. any ideas??
  6. Classic Model F Serial # F461386 Built in the last quarter of 1996 Dedicated 20amp to the pannel I had no power to the hot tub, replaced the G.F.C.I plug, drained, cleaned and refilled it. Next day it was warm, I added the chemicals and pushed the clean button and walked away. The clean button shuts off in about 10 mins automatic. Later on in the day I went back to look at the hot tub and there was what I thought to be black plastic peices in the water. (this was yesterday). Tonight I retrieved the peices by going in the hot tub. The water still warm and circulating. The buttons dont work, push them and nothing happens. On furter inspection of the peices I removed from the water they are not plastic they sound like metal when you shake them and they look rusty. You can find a photo if these peices here : http://smg.photobuck...ab4u/Hot%20Tub/ Thanks in advance for any help
  7. Hey guys, I finally got my Vita Spa Vintage LH hooked up and filled up but have a few problems. First no heat, no heat indicator lights and the high limit switch isnt tripped (checked to see if the lil red button had popped) Secondly, when i flipped the breaker the bubbler kicked in automatically, but the pump for the jets wasnt running. It only runs when I hit the Jet button on the control panel, and the jets arent working. Tried the 3 valves but no luck. My control panel has the old style temp dial with a button for jets, blower, and light. They all have indicator lights at the top. Any ideas?
  8. We bought a house with a 19' 30-year-old Rio swim spa (Rio Plastics , http://www.rioplastics.com). I'm doing a 1-time makeover to get in in shape for years to come. The spa is half in-ground, so I have access to most of the plumbing. I'd like to ask about jets. In the 350-gallon spa part, there are 5 jets up top, and one in the footwell across from the suction. These were driven by a pump with a 1-hp motor through 2" rigid PVC lines. One side was strong, but the last jet on the far side was pretty weak. The only air insertion was based on opening an inlet on the control panel on the spa side - no air blower was in the system. The spa seats 4 easily, 7 if they are friendly. At least half the jets leak, and they don't swivel much any more due to a buildup of crud, and the plastic itself has seen its best days; so I'll be replacing all the jets anyway. Looking at modern offerings, I see air blowers and many jets per seat, and the jets seem more sophisticated than the simple ones I have, which are just a ball-swivel straight nozzle. - Should I consider adding an air blower? - What kinds of jets should I upgrade to? Who are good manufacturers or what are good models - by "good" I mean long-lasting, trouble-free, easy to service, and giving a nice jet stream. - Should I consider redoing the jet plumbing and adding more jets at each seating position? How many and where? Will I need more pump and motor? Thanks in advance for your help.
