  1. I Have a vita L700C whenever I try to use the topside panel it always blinks no matter what setting I am in and it wont heat up. The clock will blink, when I change the setting to see the water temperature it continues to blink, when I change it to the set temp of 102 degrees it continues to blink. I have replaced the recirculator pump and the heater element. I am going to put in a new topside panel due to it being hard to read due to the condensation that has built up over the years. All 3 pumps work as they should. I tested the new heater element and the Ohms were within spec. When i turn the breaker on and test the heater for voltage it only reads at 0.023V. The heater element is a 4kW @ 240v system. Any ideas or help to guide me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
  2. So we are trying to start our hot tub after a couple of years of it being off. We filled it with water to prime it, we tried turning it on on the fuse panel. We get a code of the top screen panel saying “Pr” and the heater is making a clicking sound like a turn signal in a car. VS501 Balboa IMG_3394.MP4
  3. I'm a new hot tub user and for about a week now I've been having an issue of just above 0ppm bromine levels, my pH and TA are completely fine and in the correct range although the bromine is next to nothing, I have a Sundance Optima 880 and I tried using the Brominator and a floating dispenser both together and one at a time and neither has fixed my issue and now just yesterday when the jets are on the hot tub starts to create foam. During the refilling stage I used infused bromine granules as I heard this is something you're supposed to use to boost the bromine upon refill, this worked and I had high bromine levels although they naturally ended up dropping. I've tried, refilling the water, using non-chlorine shock treatment, cleaning the filter with a filter cleaner hose attachment
  4. Howdy! first time on this forum, hope everyone is having a good day. I'm trying to replace the circulation pump in a Balboa EL Neptune (pretty sure that's what its called) Original pump in Hot tub was a Waterway cp-1/15-1n22a 3410020-0E motor The pump motor specs are labeled as follows 1/8 H.P. 230v 0.8A S.F. 1 1725 RPM Continuous run time. Just about every reasonably priced pump ive found (sub $200) is rated at 1/15 H.P. Does it matter? Should I spend ~$300 to get one rated 1/8HP even if the lower HP motor has the same RPM? also the one i keep seeing (Iron Might 3410020-1E) has a lower SF value of 0.63A Is this a big deal? top contender for replacement: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Gecko-Alliance-3410020-1E-Iron-Might-Circ-Pump-44-230V-0-8A/115706139?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1582&&adid=22222222227046475627&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=96531595610&wl4=pla-218879689010&wl5=9016858&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=113139572&wl11=online&wl12=115706139&veh=sem&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0rr4BRCtARIsAB0_48Ou_bwsIFM0jSFsDZtfPGZ9KGOZM3lUx4drDR7m_BK6TGXa5vWt9AkaAhUeEALw_wcB Pardon my naivety, first time Hot Tub owner. Any help is appreciated.
  5. I have a spa that overflows into my pool. I noticed the jets suddenly were not pushing out much water, then my blower was not working. I replaced the blower, the new blower kept overheating. We narrowed it down to having some sort of blockage. We had rotorooter try and clear the line (way overpriced) then we used a gas pump and pulled the water back from the spa, hoping to dislodge anything, there was a small piece of plastic that came out. Then we pumped through the jets in hopes to push anything out. STILL, the blower is overheating and the jets seem very weak without the blower. ALSO the overflow into the pool is weak. I would think this means there is still something clogging behind the jets?? Is there a way to unscrew the jets? If so what tool? I have attached a picture of one of the jets. I think my next step would be to unscrew jets, if that dosn't work, drill a hole in the blower pipe to decrease back pressure but I would prefer to fix this right. I am just scare of breaking the plastic and creating more issues.
  6. I took the filter of my lazy spa pump when it was raining and now its leaking from the bottom of the pump. what have I done to it can you help please. 😔
  7. I replaced the heater element in a maax spa and everything was working. I decided to test the element with a multimeter and did it wrong. There was a big boom and the spa turned off. Now it won't turn back on. Is the board fried? Should I try and replace the definite.contactor? Any help would be appreciated. When I flip the breaker nothing happens.
  8. Hi Everyone, looking for some help. My hot tub display dropped to 60. When I unplug it and plug it back in it starts at 100 and slowly works it way back down to 60. When I try to press the buttons up the temp just falls back down to 60. It still feels pretty warm in the tub but not 104 that’s for sure. I’m worried because it’s so cold here right now and won’t warm up for months, it’s -4 f here right now. I think it could be the topside display? Any thoughts? Additional information it’s a 2007 x400 dream maker spa. Thank you so much Erika
  9. Hi all, We recently got a 2004 Caldera Spas Utopia Geneva from some friends, built a deck and had it wired up but I'm having a problem. After turning both the 30 and 20 amp breaker on, the spa starts up. The 'LIM OK' light comes on and the 'HTR OK' as well. The circulation pump starts working and after 5 minutes it goes into the auto clean routine. The air blower starts and runs for a minute but when Jet 2 turns on low it trips the 30 amp breaker after a second or so. If I manually start Jet 1 or 2 it trips near immediately. I released the union on top of both pumps and only found one to have a small amount of air in it. I know several have stated disconnect each component and then try but if the air blower and heater can start without tripping either the 30 or 20 could it be one of those? I'm just puzzled as to why both pumps would be bad. As a test the electrician bypassed the 30amp GFCI breaker and wired the 10AWG lines directly into the main 50amp feed coming into the subpanel. The pumps will run fine that way but it's not a permanent solution. Does this point to a GFCI issue? The load neutral is connected to the 30amp breaker. The only wiring deviation is a convenience GFCI outlet wired off the 20amp breaker. The electrican says he tried running it with that disconnected with no luck but I wasn't standing over his shoulder at that point. We know the tub was sitting for some time so the goal was to run it long enough to heat the water and then use a jet purge and drain afterward but if I can't get the jets to run without tripping. So that's not an option unless I go back to that 50amp GFCI bypass just for cleaning if that's recommended. I know you guys get a lot of random drop-in 'Help' questions but any advice or direction is helpful. At this point we have several thousand plus dollars into a non-working hot tub.
  10. We just got a used 2008 Dimension one California jasper model hot tub. We are new to hot tubs. We ordered new filters and installed them. The tub heats up but we keep getting “Low flow error”. Not sure what is causing this to happen. Just want to enjoy my new spa and we have yet to make it in. Thanks to anyone who can help.
  11. Okay guys, I seek your expertise! I just bought this master spa 66t9 the other day. It has been sitting for over a year. Some of the jets seem clogged but all functional. I want it to be as close to perfect as possible. Under the control panel there is this hose that appears it broke off from somewhere but I cant seem to find where it is suppose to be hooked. It doesnt leak water or anything since it is the same hose that is wrapped up and ziptied, and covered in the foam in the left side of the picture! Any ideas to where this tube should go or connect to? Please help me! lol. I'm a spa newbie, trying to learn more to not only service our own but help others as well.
  12. My hot tub keep cutting off and displays the OH. The tub is about 15 years old. It is not even heating up to the temp setting of 103. It will run a couple of hours then shut down with the OH on the display. When the temp gets close to 100 it shuts down. I have checked the filter and cleaned it. I have opened all the valves, the pumps are working as it should. I replaced the heating element with a heavy duty one about 4 years ago. I have cut the breaker off several times to see if it would reset itself. The temp was 98 and it cut off with the OH on the display and will not to anything even when cutting the breaker off and back on still displays OH. I don't know what to do at this point and any insight would be helpful.
  13. Hello - I have a 450gal tub that is 2 months old and I have a constant recurring issue. I filled the tub, added sodium bromide and shocked with MPS...I also have a bromine floater that is in the tub that I have set to "all the way open". I find it impossible to maintain a bromine readout from day to day. If I add dichlor I get a nice readout, but within 18 hours the readout goes to 0. Last night, I shocked w/MPS to try and reactivate the bromine. I will run a test strip tonight to see if there is anything, but the only thing I noticed this morning is that it made my water cloudy... Please help! UPDATE: Last night I was actually able to get a readout of bromine in my spa, which means something is finally working. The next question I have would be how do I maintain this level of bromine? Just keep shocking with MPS weekly, or is something else required more than that?

  15. Spa is not heating, voltage to each element is 120v. But when I set the temp up to 104 the spa kicks on for a shot while and then shuts off. I don't hear a low speed pump circulating. What way should I go, change the 2 speed pump or replace heater?
  16. Hi Everyone, I've been referencing these forums for a while now to help maintain and troubleshoot issues with my spa and now am hoping that someone may be able to help me figure out what is going on with my G3 tub. So, after having my tub shut down for about a year now I've been trying to get it up and running again. After flushing the tub, cleaning it and refilling it I was getting a DR error code. At first, foolishly, I thought it might be the heating element being burned out as it was getting old but even after replacing it still was giving me that low flow error message. After replacing the element I realized that jets on half of the tub actually were not functioning and that although the Jet 1 button worked flawlessy, when I hit Jet 2 I was hearing a loud humming noise instead of the usual pump sound. At this point I am THINKING it might be something to do with the capacitor as the bearings seem to work fine and I can spin the impeller inside of the pump with no resistance at all. However, I also noticed that the rod that spins the impeller looks absolutely terrible while the capacitor looks pristine. I've linked an imgur album below of photos I took yesterday to show what I'm talking about. Any ideas? http://imgur.com/a/w304C
  17. Hi! Im new to this forum, I just acquired a older model Jacuzzi hot tub. The model is 8780000 ( Caressa). Got a pretty good deal on it since it doesnt leak, and all the side wood is in great condition. Its wired for 115vac 20 amp. I ran a dedicated line (gfci of course) and bonded the tub to code. However when we plugged it in the first time we realized it wasnt heating after 24 hours it didnt warm up not even a degree. After looking up some information I realized it could be the heating element. Below is what I did to replace it Unplugged the tub drained the tub to below jet level loosened the four hose clamps removed the bond bar line from top of the manifold unscrewed the high limit housing from the manifold removed the connection to the element prongs Carefully slid out the thermister for the high level switch I noticed that the old element was welded into the manifold below is how i replaced it Used a band saw and cut the exposed prongs off the manifold Used a grinder to grind the remaining prong flush to the manifold Used a 1/4 drill bit to break the weld around the element I ordered a new element ( its a little shorter 10" vs 16" however what I read it doesnt matter Bored out the 1/4 holes to fit the 1/2 bolts for the new element Verified that the element had o-rings Tightened the nuts to the bolts ( careful not to over torque) Cleaned the Hot wire and the neutral wire from the hot tub panel with a wire brush crimped new connectors to work with the new element Moved the ground ( didnt like the ground to the manifold, bad idea so i moved it to the bond bar) Re installed the manifold and tightened the hose clamps. When I removed the old element , it was obvious to me that it needed replacement ( calcium build up, and rust was all over it, it one area it looked like it burst, maybe at some point it was hot ran? i dont know. After doing all this I was excited we were excited that we were finally going to be able to enjoy our tub ( winters coming) However it didnt ( I let the tub sit for 12 hours in the HTR/Filter mode, its only a 115 20 amp tub so i figured it would heat 1-2°F per hour but yeah it didnt) . Below are all the steps I did so far Made sure high temp switch isnt open Checked voltage to the new element ( 120v each) checked relays all seem to be working, each read positive off the ground and the magnetic coils seem to be in good shape Replaced the Filter The jets work, and the HTR/Filter button does move water around so my circulating pump works The turn dial thermostat initiates the the relays to turn the tub, and the heater on indicating light works Is there something I missed? I consider my self more than the average do it yourself kinda guy. My background is mechanical engineering so that's why I was so excited to get this older SCM tub. if anyone can help me troubleshoot please feel free! I want it to get up and running before winter. There isnt much online for troubleshooting these tubs. thanks!
  18. I purchased a used Leisure Bay hot tub (2001 Smart Series Model1900-s) and wired it up and noticed that the pressure switch assembly had rusted to where it was causing a leak, so I cut cut it off and ordered a new assembly. When it came in I installed it and turned it back on and hit the jets button and heard it attempt to run for a second then it died and would not cut back on. Further investigation let me to a blown 20 amp fuse, I bought some more and replaced the fuse and it came back on but I didn't press any buttons this time and just let it run and it ran for about 30 seconds and you could hear air bubbling from a jet and then it died again because it blew the fuse again. Does anyone know the reason why it would keep blowing a fuse? Does anyone have any suggestions on troubleshooting to figure out why it's doing this Any knowledgeable advice will be very helpful.
  19. I just bought an Artesian Island Series 6 person Lounger that's a few years old. I need to move it across town to my house. I have a trailer and plenty of help. What is the easiest way to move it? Can it be stood up and transported on its side without damage? It also has to move about 30' to get to the trailer. Is there an easy way or should we just try to muscle it? Thanks!
  20. I went out this morning to empty the skimmer baskets and noticed my pool was not circulating and the jets had nothing coming out. Went over to the pump/filter system (Hayward) and it was not doing anything. Checked breakers and turned them on and off a couple of times. Took the top off the basket emptied what little was in it and closed it back. I tried backwashing as well and nothing. There was almost full water sitting in the basket compartment. I took the hose and water was draining from there so I know it's not stopped up. What could be the problem? Also everytime I vacuum and turn the jets back on, sand blows out into my pool. This pump/filter system was totally rebuilt and has all new parts and has only been running approximately 2 months now.
  21. Hi everyone: We just moved a hot tub, ran new wires, filled it up and thought it was working fine, until it didn't heat up. I have been reading posts online about what to do and I am completely lost. One thread I read says to press the red reset button on the heater but I can't find one. Also, the electrician isn't completely sure if it's hooked up correctly because what is in the panel doesn't exactly match what's in the manual and the cover of the panel is a little confusing. All jets as well as the light work. There are also lights on the circuit board. The power light is green and the heater light is red (nothing is flashing). We cleaned the filters, the weir gate is working fine, and the circulation pump seems to be working as there is a slight vibration on it and on the heater. The water just doesn't seem to be moving around in the tub. When it first had power, some cloudy water poured out of the drain and it seemed to be circulating. What can I try to narrow down what the problem is? I have a picture but don't know how to paste it on here. If this helps, there are 3 wires coming out of the deck, black wire is hot and is in #2, red wire is hot and is in #4, and blue wire is neutral and is in #5...is this right? Note that this spa is in Canada so I think the wire colours are slightly different for hot and neutral. I am extremely clueless when it comes to this spa so I would really appreciate anyone's help!! Thank you.
  22. I have a Hot Springs Envoy spa that is about 7 years old. It has a minor leak. Due to the location of the tub on my deck and the remote location of my home, the labor repair cost alone will be about $4,000 (removal of the deck railing, crane, etc.). I had a technician come out and look they can only access the front panel where all of the pumps and control panel are located. They do not see a leak at the pumps. As a last resort, I am going to try a liquid stop leak in a bottle product. Has anybody had any experience (success?) with this type of repair? I have looked at several brands: Fix a leak “The Orginal” by Marlig Industries, Pool and Spa Leak fix, Watertite Leak Stopper for Spa./Pool, Leisure Time Stop Leak. Surprisingly the Marlig product gets rave reviews online. I am only interested in feedback from people who have used this type of products. As I stated the labor and equipment rental to repair the tub will be over $4,000. This is a last ditch effort. If it doesn't work I will be investing in a new hot tub. Any feedback regarding the leak in a bottle repair would be greatly appreciated. HELP!!!!
