  1. No, I do not own a portable spa but I saw nowhere to post for an ingound one. Mine is more like a small pool and holds about 500 gal water. I have had this for over 25 years and replaced the original gas heater twice. There is no way I can get it to heat between 99 and 106. I just barely move the temperture dial but it just always says 99 or 106. Never under nor never above. I would like some suggestions. The Spa tech has been telling me about the much smaller in size electric heaters but $1800 is just too much to handle on SSA. I need to keep this one running at a comfortable in-between temperature.
  2. 18x33x54 Wilbar resin/aluminum pool being installed partially in ground, 2 1/2 feet below grade and with a deep end...Anyone see issues here? We've determined where we are putting the heater, next to the pump on the deep-end corner of the pool. Anyone see a problem with having the skimmer at the deep end? We originally planned to put it at the shallow end, but that is the end nearest the patio and we thought we'd minimize the noise issue if we put it further away. Is this a bad idea? Should the skimmer always go nearest the entry point/shallow end? Looking at the schematic from the manufacturer for below-grade installation, though, they are showing the pump installed above the skimmer level (sitting at grade). Hmmm. Are they assuming we would be using in-ground equipment? The text has no indication of this requirement. We are still planning on placing the (AGP) pump and heater below grade next to the pool, and hoping this isn't a mistake. I'm a little worried that the heater might not have enough air flow. We do have a plan to provide drainage for the area. Construction has begun today! DH is excavating the space right now. Second scoop revealed irrigation water pipe precisely where we asked the sprinkler installers NOT to put it! So we shifted the whole operation over a foot and are hoping it all goes smoothly from here.
