I would like to buy a variable speed pump that is quiet and energy efficient, with a digital display/timer. When I go to the Pentair website they have several different ones to choose from but I don't know which one is right for my pool. I have a 18,000 gallon inground gunite pool. It is salt chlorinated, not heated, and there is no spa attached. The pump I have currently is hayward 3/4 hp. A neighbor with a pool told me they love their new Pentair brand, but I would also be open to a Hayward brand. Any advice on which is proper for me?

I want to upgrade my Sta-Rite Max-E-Glas II pump to a more energy efficient variable speed pump. My pool is 19x23 13,500 gallon pool that is 5ft in the deepest section with no spa attached, and I want to make sure that I am not going to purchase a pump that is overkill my my size pool. I am averaging 28 kWh a day at an average cost of .22 and hour. I originally was interested in purchasing the Pentair Intelliflo VS pump, but then talked with a Hayward Rep at my local pool store was steering me toward the Hayward Max-Flo VS which is less horsepower and $$, and explains that it will save the same amount of money as the Pentair. Again, I have a small pool, and want to know if anyone has either of these cost effective variable speed pumps. IMG_1167.jpgIMG_1173.jpgIMG_1170.jpg

I am in the process of designing a larger deck for my house in Mammoth Lakes, and want to incorporate a recessed or semi-recessed spa. I need a spa that can handle high altitude, extreme cold and lots of snow in winter. I want a spa that retains heat well, and I was looking at Arctic. However, I found another brand that uses a similar heat retaining design that is much, much cheaper with more bells and whistles. The problem is, I cannot find any reference to this brand on this forum, nor any customer reviews online. The warranty and service guarantee is spectacular. I can afford a Covana and a bigger spa/more bells and whistles for the cost of an Arctic. Just wondering if anyone has heard of this brand. This is what I am looking at: https://www.integrit...oBay%5FTV%5FSPA They only sell online and offer free shipping. Almost sounds too good to be true. I know. Don't say it. Opinions? Suggestions?
