I am looking at putting in a portable spa in my back yard and was wondering if anyone could share their experience with the Covana Oasis cover? About how much can I expect to pay for it? Can I install it myself? Does it insulate the spa better than a typical factory cover? Have you had any problems with it? What is customer support like - and are local dealers able to handle it? Would you buy it again? It's been difficult to find any reviews about it, any thoughts you have would be great. Thank you!

Why would my cover not be keeping out debris? I often will leave the tub clean, come back and open the cover to lots of tree debris having gotten into the tub somehow even though the cover was on for the past 12 hours??

I live in North Carolina, and I have a Leisure Bay G2 Spa. The cover I have is very heavy and water logged. It's still in fine shape because it gets very little sun, but due to the weight I need to replace it. The last cover I bought was from some random online vendor in Sept 2016 so I got about 3.5 years out of this one. We do have a lift assist (not a motor or anything) in case that matters. Who should I buy my next cover from? What features do you recommend? How thick? Any advice in this area for me? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! I inherited an older Coleman Horizon 400 series spa with the house. There's a triangular compartment built into the corner of the spa that holds a container with the lid. The lid itself is fairly water-tight, so I suspect it was built to store things, but the compartment itself is a container that is sitting inside the spa, and the minute enough people climb into the spa to raise the waterline, it pours into the compartment, and the container starts floating. It's super annoying: the water gets in there, and there's no way to get it out other than try to use container as a plunger. The water can get moldy in there, because once it gets in, it stays in the compartment and is not getting circulated. Any idea what this is and how to deal with it? Thank you!

I have an outdoor above ground endless pool which is nearing completion, I am concerned about heat loss. The pool sits on a 20cm fibre reinforced slab and has 15cm of wall cavity insulation and 40 cm of brick all round. The pool is 5M x 2.5M 9000 litres which I would like to keep at 2- to 23 degrees all year round, I have a heat exchanger on my boiler and a 17Kw air heat pump . My issue is heat loss through the water surface so I need a cost effective lid, I can't find one that will fit and be easy to remove, is there a simple solution? Rob

Hello all, It's been a while since I've visited this forum and hope someone here can help me. I live in Colorado Springs Colorado where we have thin air and lots of sunshine. We also get a lot of hail. Since getting my Marquis Spirit spa in early 2010 I've replaced 3 covers and now need a fourth. I had ordered a rhino cover from a company in Denver but they had some issues before they could deliver. Basically I need a cover that will stand up to high UV levels and pea size to nickel sized hail. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Tim

Has anyone ever made their own cover? I'm thinking about using some double stacked 2" foam and luan, wrapped in a UV coated Vinyl. All the websites I've seen are outrageously priced, and I can't seem to find anyone in Louisville KY under $1000. Any good sites for this sort of thing? Any help is appreciated

The zipper on my hot tub cover is broken on one half of the cover near the hinge. Otherwise, the cover is in fine shape though it is likely 10 years old. (I'm not sure of the age as we just bought the house. The hot tub is 10 years old.). Is thtere a way to repair the zipper or seal the seam? I'm a new spa owner. Recommendations and knowledge are very welcome. Thank you!

Hello everyone, we purchased a Caldera Geneva. The electrician came out today and asked us a bunch of questions we didn't anticipate. So we are looking for others input to make a good decision. We got the basic pro-lift cover, but were told the pro-lift IV, would give us more privacy from the neighbors. I was wondering if anyone has any advice/experience to offer? Also any advice on which direction for the recliner to face would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

We live out in the country and within the first six months of owning our Sundance Optima cover, squirrels made holes to try and bury acorns; crows pecked holes in it. so it leaks, and has become too heavy to open and chemicals in water are compromised. So, to get water back in shape, we first need to replace cover. Does anyone have cover they think would not be able to be pecked through? Once we get new cover we will also get a weather cap to cover with, but that could be pecked through also. Anyone else faced this problem? Thank you.

i have a new 12ft diameter outdoor pool, just bought a solar cover for it. However, I'd like to use a chlorinator as i've been told they're good at keeping the levels just right. can a chlorinator be anchored down in the middle of the pool (a bit like a bouy) so it doesn't touch the solar cover. If the filter is on and the water is moving, then i can't see the problem.

Hello, thanks for contributing to such a great resource and a Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! I (we) are embarking on my first spa purchase in Western NY. It will primarily be used by my wife and I. I've always enjoyed spas on ski trips and am usually the last one to exit. I have a blown out disk at L4-L5 and muscle tightness is my worst enemy. I am hoping in addition to stretching a spa will help stay off back episodes. Our home is a ranch with a two tier deck. The bottom 10' x 20' tier is at grade and the upper 16' x 16' tier is at 2' above grade, planing on placing the spa on the upper tier close to the 10' side of the lower tier. While the deck is exposed to full sun in the summer making it virtually unusable, we are blessed with a large back yard with a mature Red Maple at the center. Due to removal of a perimeter of dying Blue Spruces and overgrown Creeping Junipers privacy and shade is at a premium for the near future. We would really like to make a destination of our back yard and admittedly are "putting the cart before the horse" buying a spa first. This week a 60 Amp 220 VAC and 110 VAC service were run out to the deck with a disconnect box mounted on the house but not within reach of the proposed spa location. Next week the main deck beam will be reinforced and and additional beam added. I am fortunate to have to reputable dealers in our area, Pettis Pools (Maax) and Clover Home Leisure (Hot Springs). Both dealers have been around for a long time, have great local reputations and clean BBB reviews. Pettis also carries the Sterling Covana motorized spa cover, which has great appeal given our lack of shade and privacy. I hope this coming Sunday to wet test a Maax 481 and a Hot Springs Envoy. The Maax 781 would be a better comparison to the Envoy, but both are more than we would like to spend. Both the Maax 781 and Hot Springs Envoy are several paychecks above our budget. Bullfrog would be in the running, but for me having a local dealer to service us is extremely important. Our budget started with the Maax 471, but tat 6' tall the lounge did not fit well thus the 481 and Envoy. The Covana would solve any problems related to shade and privacy quite well, but the money even for a 2yr old showroom display could easily put us into the Maax 781 or Host Springs Envoy. After reading about spas and service I "think" I would prefer a spa that is insulated (Maax Spas), but not full foam (Hot Springs). It certainly gets cold here, but with heat rising isn't the cover one of the largest sources of loss (Therefore Covana)? Hot Springs would blow out our budget and not place us in a position to afford the Covana or deck improvements offering shade or privacy. With 110' of snow a year on average and a huge shade and privacy problem. Your experience and input would be very welcome as we try to make this decision. If I could sell my 2013 BMW K1600GT I might be tempted to buy the Envoy (based on this forums members current endorsements on HS) and the Covana. I am not ready to fire sell the bike just to make this purchase. -Seamuis

I'm hoping someone may have had this problem and can lend some advice. As I was pumping the water off of my winter pool cover, I began to notice that the water in my pool was decreasing as well which made me realize that there is obviously a hole in the cover. The water in the pool is about a foot lower than it should be. My question is how I should now go about taking the cover off since pumping the water off of the cover is no longer an option? Should a person get each end of the cover and just pull it towards the other end of the pool? Would filling the pool to make up for the foot of water make this any easier? Thanks.
