  1. Hi all, got the hot tub out of storage to find what I can only describe as a black mould as well as other stain patches. Does anyone know how to clean/remove these? Even my jet wash doesn’t take it off. I’ve tried bleach, that does seem to fade it but not remove it Pretty devastated to be honest, I clean the whole thing down and dried it thoroughly before storing it :( Hopefully someone can help. Kind regards Mark
  2. Hi there, We bought a house that came with an empty hot tub. First step was to determine if it has power which it does. Next step is what?? We don’t even know where to begin. Please help! It’s empty and not sure how long it has been sitting empty. Provided pictures and any advice would be so appreciated. thank you!
  3. Hello, I purchased a 450 gallon Artesian spa two months ago. The spa has filter cycles and can adjust them from off to 24 hours. I understand what the filter cycles are for but I would like to know how they work. For starters, I understand how the water is filtered. To explain what I would like to know Ill provide a example... Lets say I set Filter 1 to run from 11am to 3pm. When my filter cycle starts lets say at 11am, each of my three jets come on one at a time for 30 secs or so. While each pump runs for 30 seconds, I can fill water being sucked into the intake points (round coaster looking things at the bottom of the spa). It should be noted that I have 4 intakes in the bottom of the spa. After the pumps do the 30 second cycle the pumps go off and all that is running is a the circulation pump and I dont feel water being sucked into the intake points. So my question is what happens during a 4 hour filter cycle. Does it repeat this process every 30 mins or hour. I can not find anything out there to understand what happens after the filter cycle starts in the beginning. I guess I could stand there for four hours and watch the cycle but I do not think I could do it. Any help solving my curiosity would be awesome. Thank You.
  4. My 10-year-old inground gunite pool needs some tile repair and I'm hoping someone can give me advice. There is one section of about 8 small tiles that all popped off and I saved them all, so those need to be repaired/re-attached. No more have come off in probably 3 years and I don't know why they came off in the first place. Can I do that myself or hire a professional? The rest of the tiles around the perimeter seem to get mold or algae in them. I started using a solar blanket and maybe that is causing the mold issue, I'm not sure. I scrub the grout with a wire brush to loosen/clean the grout and there is enough chlorine in the pool but it seems to come back fast, especially near the skimmer basket. I noticed the grout between the tiles is not flush with the tiles - is re-grouting tiles at the pool perimeter something that is normal upkeep? Or am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to clean the grout other than wire brush? Should I be using a chemical also? Or will re-grouting help the issue of the algae/mold forming between the tiles?
  5. Hey guys, I have a tough situation one that I need some help with. I bought a Hot Spring Envoy a few months back and the previous owner did clean and rotate the filters as often as he should have. The plastic at the top and bottom of the filter started to brake down and it got into the hottub and developed a layer at the surface level of the hot tub. I tried to get it off, but if I get a magic eraser I have to scrub it for about a minute to just get a little bit of it off. It would take forever to clean the entire hot tub like this. It's a very thing (but hard) residue to get off. I can actually scrap it off with my finger nail if I work hard at it. (I've attached a picture of part of my shell so you can see it.) I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of a product (hopefully something I can pick up a Home Depot or the grocery store) I can use to spray on the shell to help brake this stuff down so that I can clean it off the shell. I really want to get this stuff off my hot tub. Thanks for your help!
  6. Hi there, I am a final year university student looking to design a mid-range surface cleaner that will automatically collect the leaves from the surface of outside private (above and in-ground) swimming pools before they can block the skimmer baskets. I am collecting information from pool users/cleaners, and would really appreciate a few moments you can take to fill out one of my short questionnaires (10 questions or less): If you are a private outdoor pool owner, or live in a residential community with an outdoor swimming pool, please access the following link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CTZRRCG If you work or have worked in the swimming pool maintenance industry, please access the following link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/J98P2R3 Many thanks in advance!
