  1. So this winter I came home to a blown out fitting on the pipe to/thru the heater (left side coming into heater box). I believe it was due to an "OH" error (which I've seen before & shuts the jacuzzi down) which shut the heater down, water froze, black clamp fitting busted, water drained out. So yesterday I replaced the fitting, filled it & it fired up as normal, circulated & all seemed fine. BUT, the water never heated up. I checked all wires & fittings. So does this seems like a heater issue? I can easily find the heater & replace myself, but I'm not 100% sure that's the most likely issue. Thoughts? Thanks!
  2. Hey all, I'm hoping you guys might be able to help out as my limited knowledge has run out of troubleshooting ideas: I have a 2005 Cal Spa that recently stopped working. No power running to it at all as if the breaker was off (which it isn't). Here's what I've noticed: About a week before it broke, I went out to use it a noticed it was off totally. Checked breakers and everything was fine. I suspected the outdoor breaker so went back and forth switching both outdoor and indoor breakers on and off in different orders, and finally it kicked on and worked great that night. I didn't think much of it at the time... A week later I went out and same problem: no power at all, except this time tripping and resetting the breakers didn't work. I'm sure the breakers are good as the outside one is GFCI and trips when I hit the test button. I also pulled the panel off and used my multimeter to assure power was running into the tub. So now having located the problem to something inside the tub, I started to use my multimeter to check fuses, connections, etc to see if anything obvious was broken (which it didn't seem to be). However, the original transformer looked pretty ratty and dated to me, so I ordered a new one and crossed my fingers that was the problem. New one arrived today and still no luck with the power. Now, here's where things get weird: With the new transformer installed, I started going contact to contact with my multimeter trying to trace the spot in the circuit where power runs out. In the process, I noticed that if I had my multimeter prongs on the board in the spot highlighted in the picture below and set to 200 ACV, nothing would happen but power was running to that spot. Then if I kept contact to that same spot and turned my multimeter dial over to the Ohms settings, the tub will make a little "click" noise and turn on like normal. The display shows an "01" then an "11" then the default temp setting "100" and then to the current temp of the water "86", and then totally loses power like before, all within maybe like 5 seconds...I'm not sure if this is normal or not since any other time I've turned it on from being off at the breaker I have been over at the box and not looking directly at the display. A google search and manual read didn't yield anything helpful about what the "01" and "11" could mean... I'm pretty stumped at this point. Is there some faulty trip switch I'm not seeing that is getting clicked over when I adjust the power slightly with my multimeter attached? My electrical knowledge is just enough to be dangerous so I don't know what other things it could be. Thanks for the time reading though my problem and helping out if you can. I really appreciate it! -Mike
  3. I'm getting an error message on my only 6 month old Cal Spa it says heater overheated. Everywhere I look says this is a common problem when draining and filling the hot tub. It says the way to fix it is to open the spa box and push the red reset button. I cannot locate this button anywhere can somebody please help and let me know where it is. The spa box is a waterway Neo 1500. Please help find the reset button... Thank you
  4. I have a 2003 cal spa with 5000 series control panel. Spa stopped working and control panel is flashing 20 then 11 then 00. Any ideas what to do? Thanks
  5. Ok have a older call spa we filled it and turned on breaker The tub said PR the priming waited a couple seconds and then as soon as it got out of priming when the circ pump turned on it popped a breaker so we were trying to figure out what was wrong took the wires from the circ pump and plug them into one of the other ports for one of the other pumps tried it again and the circ pump worked and it didn't pop a breaker so kind of confused now if we start the tub and catch it before the circ pump starts all the other jets work fine and all the other jets work if the circ pump is not plugged in any ideas???
  6. I have an older cal spa that works great. Now have SF error code. Jets start and immediately turn off . Heater not working. Any suggestions?
  7. PLEASE HELP! Hello, I have a 2001 CalSpa 2100 series hot tub that was given to me. I'm trying to get it running and have just finished running a 220 line out to it and replacing a wet end that was cracked. There is a hose that is connected to the wet end of the pump on the left side of the cabinet and it runs behind the electrical box and over behind the 2nd pump that sits just behind/to the right of the electrical box. There is a clamp on the end of the hose but does not connect to anything. My question is where does it connect to? There is also another short hose that is on the right side of the cabinet that comes out where the wires for the LED lights go into the foam. Should this tube connect to something? I hope somebody may have the same model and can provide some help and/or pictures of the inside of their cabinet. I feel something may be missing from my set up. Thank you in advance for any help or advice!
  8. We just got done installing our first spa and have already run into a potential issue. The spa is a 2013 Cal Spas E750L. It has two pumps and 50 jets. Everything seems to be operating correctly but I am getting a strange howling noise in the equipment area but under the filter/suction section of the tub. I'm positive it is not a motor. If I close one of the blade valve half way the noise stops. Any suggestions before I call a technician? The second question is in regards to the Safety Suction light. I read the owners manual front to back and there really isn't much explanation. My Safety Suction light is on steady. Is that normal? Thank you! -John
