  1. First-time spa purchaser! 22 yr anniversary present. I’ve narrowed it down to: 1. Artesian Captiva 46 2. West Coast Spas Deschutes Both spas with similar options are fairly close in price. The Deschutes is about $600 less overall (and that includes a $300 delivery charge since they’re in Oregon about 30 minutes south of us). If not for that delivery charge, it would be about $900 less. Both have 2 5-HP motors. Artesian uses Balboa pumps, WCS uses Waterway pumps. Both have similar # of jets. WCS has more bells/whistles with LEDs, etc. (not that important to me; I want longevity). The Deschutes has a better overall warranty (5 yrs on the plumbing; 3 on the pumps, etc.). The Artesian has 3 years on plumbing/electrical. The Deschutes comes with a cover lifter as well. Artesian has a dealer here in town (Vancouver, WA) that’s been around since the seventies. Well regarded for after-sale service. WCS is in Milwaukee (30 minutes south of us in Oregon). They have rebranded a couple times over the years from what I’ve been told. They make the spas themselves. Any thoughts on which way to go? Thank you in advance.
  2. Hi all.... I'm new to this forum and I have a service question that the customer service manager at Artesian couldn't solve; also a spa repairman on site at my house couldn't solve. So I am hoping the collective wisdom & experience from this site might be able to uncover my mystery. I have had this issue for over a year -- I know, a whole year without my spa!! I have a 2006 Artesian Piper Glen (Platinum Series). In the spring of 2014 my spa stopped working. After some initial troubleshooting, I was instructed to purchase a new spa pack. So, I installed a new in.xm2 spa pack. When that didn't solve my issue, I was instructed that it could be my heater could be faulty. So I replaced that as well. CURRENT ISSUE: When I turn on the power, I am getting the blinking “SP-IN” error code but I can’t change anything. The “select” key is unresponsive, even after holding down the select key for 10-15 seconds. So I am unable to set the LL code to 28 (told to me by Gecko dealer through Artesian service dept). I have checked and rechecked the connections -- they are tight, no corrosion, etc all the way back to the main breaker. I have checked and rechecked the voltage. Here’s what I did and the results: Checked the voltage at the spa pack on the tops of the terminals (big bolts): o Hot#1 to white= 119.7v o Hot#2 to white= 120.0v o Hot#1 to Hot#2= 239.9v o White to ground=0.029v There is still no response when trying to press the “select” key for 2 sec, 5 sec, 30 sec. BTW, I have tried re-installing the old equipment as well. The Model & Serial numbers for the equipment are as follows: SPA: Model: Pipe Glen Serial #: 71505 Date: June 5, 2006 Control Panel: ink.600 NEW EQUIPMENT (currently installed): SPA PACK (in.xm2): Model: IN.XM1 (prod ID 0601-221104) Serial #: 141000748G IN.THERM: Model:IN.THERM-H4.0 (prod ID 0603-409001) Serial #: 132820202G In case you need to know... ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT (previously installed): SPA PACK (in.xm): Model: IN.XM1 (prod ID 0601-221010) Serial #: 060531571 IN.THERM: Model:IN.THERM-H4.0 (prod ID 0603-416001) Serial #: 060411581 Does this make any sense to anyone?? Thanks for taking the "challenge" /Joe
  3. I am having trouble finding a replacement light for a 2005 Artesian Grand Bahama. It has a 24 LED configuration and has two jacks for 5-pin plugs. This part is no longer made and pin configurations have changed. Anyone find a good source for these? Maybe advice on how to convert to another style?
  4. Hi, i'm the owner of an Artesian Spa. Serie Island spa, model Grand Cayman. Bought in th 2010 I noticed a few weeks ago a leak in my spa. The concrete around the spa is always wet and I found that i'm losing about 1/2 inch by 3 days. I started to try finding the leak. My last test was this one : - I emptied completely the spa - let it dry for 1 week (everything was now dry around the spa) - fill it up with only 1 foot of water (just to have water above all the holes (jets, pump intake, pump outake, etc.) in the foots area - let it sit for 24 hours (i didn't start any pump) I then noticed again a leak...some water came out around the spa. So, my guess is good (i think) that the leak is somewhere around the foot area. Now, my interrogation is : is there any "common issue" or easy thing that I can try based on my investigation ? I don't know but maybe it can be just a gasket or something like that. I would like to try everything before having to flip the spa on the side to access the under foot area. Any help will be appreciate. thanks
  5. Does anyone know where I can find a Tropic Seas 2016 861L Waikiki Lite operation manual that is accurate or will work for that tub? I have downloaded multiple manuals from Artisian website (and other independent sites) but none work for my spa. I have found Artisian maker has other control panels for similar spas that has better information about how my spas works and what the features are for the control head (Island Spas line) than the one they publish for my spas line. i have figured out what combination of button pushing I need to get into the menus, but I don't know what some of the setting mean or how they work together for my spa. Artisian really sucks at instructing/information manuals on their "Tropic Seas" line of spas. My control head can do things that aren't even listed in the manual. They say their manual is suitable for all of that line spas. WRONG! It's not.

  7. Hello, everyone, Another Newbie here asking your opinions to help validate my own purchase decision. Some background, Family of 5 with 3 children 9 and under. Looking for large tub, from a good, established manufacturer with solid dealer service/support. We obeyed rule number 1 on these forums and wet tested many brands and tubs, as well as online research to make our decision. We decided on the Artesian Island series Margarita. So now i'm at the negotiating stage and looking for advice on pricing, obviously Hot Tub pricing is anything but transparent, so as much as we have planned and prepared, I am not 100% sure if I'm offering the right price. I want this to be fair for both the dealer and my self, I want them to profit and be around to offer service and support for years to come. That all being said here is what I'm going to offer. All opinions and thoughts are welcome and taken with humility. Thank you in advance Isla Margarita - $9,500 108" x 91" x 36" 18” Tranquility illuminated Waterfall – $150.00 PillowFall Illuminated - $150.00 Dynapoint LED - $335.00 PermaBase ABS pan $150 Crystal AOP UV/Ozone - $no charge No stereo Cover – Included Steps - Included Start-Up Chemicals– Included Delivery – Included (I have a gate opening of 48 inches and clear path to spa pad) Subtotal - $10,285 Artesian Instant Rebate = -$900.00 Dealer Instant Double Rebate = -$900.00 Subtotal = $8485.00 Tax 7.5% = $615.00 Total = $9,100
  8. Hello! We are buying our first hot tub and are considering three models: the Marquis Reward, the Artesian Antigua and the Jacuzzi 355. So far we've wet tested the Artesian, and my 5'2 self could not stay put in the lounge. The salesman suggested I turn off some of the leg jets to fix it, which seems to defeat the purpose. Price is around $8,100 out the door with steps and a cover lift. The Jacuzzi dealer doesn't have a lounge model filled to wet test (the two they have filled have regular seats), but the salesman doesn't think I'll have a problem in the lounger because of how deep the butt sits compared to how high the legs go. Price is around $8,200 out the door with steps and a cover lift. The Reward is one of the dealer's last two Marquis models left. We haven't been to the dealer yet to see it (so not sure if we can wet test yet), but it's around $8,600 out the door with steps, no cover lift. I'm worried about buying something with a lounge that we can't wet test in case I can't stay put in it. Anyone have these that can speak to this? Also open to other models that address this concern. Any thoughts on the pricing? Thanks for your help!
  9. I just bought an Artesian Island Series 6 person Lounger that's a few years old. I need to move it across town to my house. I have a trailer and plenty of help. What is the easiest way to move it? Can it be stood up and transported on its side without damage? It also has to move about 30' to get to the trailer. Is there an easy way or should we just try to muscle it? Thanks!
