  1. Hey all, I’ve got an older hot tub at my house and I drained it and am refilling it. Never had this issue the past 2 times I’ve drained and filled, but now - the circulation pump isn’t pushing water out when it’s on, it just spins with whatever water is in it. When I turn it off, then it sends water through it. But when I turn it back on, it’s as if it sucks all the water back out of the discharge lines and leaves them dry. I’ve taken the coupling off past the discharge side when it’s running and I can see the water spinning at the pump. I’ve tried to pour water down into the pump from the discharge side when it’s on but it seems to just accept the water and send it back behind the pump because when I put water in like that, it fills that little storage tank type thing on the side where the water feeds from. I’ve loosened the coupling on the suction side. Gotten the air out, nothing. I’ve loosened the bleeder valve on the pump, got the air out, still doesn’t work. I’m out of idea’s, I don’t know what else I can do to get the water pumping through the circulation pump. This may be a stupid thought but the start capacitor got disconnected when I was messing around and I plugged it back in on the top two sections… is it possible I reversed the wires and the pump is spinning in reverse? Because that’s how the pump is currently acting. thanks
  2. Help! I've tried everything I know of. I just installed a new Waterway Executive pump to replace my old one. I filled the spa though the filter inlet as I usually do. I power up and temp comes on, heater comes on for just a minute or so, (pump does not come on!) then I get the error codes...SN (sensors out of balance) or DR (inadequate flow or air bubbles). Pump has yet to come on. Water comes out when I loosen the lines at the pump. I usually get these error codes when I refill, but it only happens once then it will start after a second try. This time though, with the new pump, something is different. Could it be the pump or an airlock? Thanks.
  3. Ok to begin this post I need to apologize for the sad story and the length of my post….I honestly don’t want yall to think I am shoveling a sob story…Now that’s out of the way let me tell you what is going on. I am a mother of four kids. I have a son who has neurofibromatosis type 1 and Noonan’s syndrome and is disabled. He is a thriving college student that works around all of his challenges including tumors on his arm, brain and spine. He has pain every day. They thought he had cerebral palsy when he was a baby and after many years of physical therapy he was a cross country runner in high school. I have fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and a brain tumor along with several other rare diseases that left me disabled at 28. I am 38 now and I suffer daily with pain. I have also been on oral steroids twice a day for 10 years. It sucks. I am fat and miserable. I spent many years on narcotic medications…enough to kill a horse and his wife. I am off all my medication and I am looking for alternatives. The steroids, Blood clots in my lungs and a year of being bed bound from an injury to my leg…..I am over 300 pounds and exercise kills me. I need a pool….Sorry. Went off into a day dream… Where was I? Oh yeah… Hot tubs are a therapy tool for us and also brings much needed relief. A Morgan spa was given to us. It is a large one with 98 jets. It needed two new motors witch I replaced. The spa pack melted after several months of use. I got another one. A balboa vs501sz. I am the one who connected everything. I am savvy around the house…the only income we have is my disability so learning how to do everything has been a way of life. So this is what happens…. Morgan spa Balboa vs501sz AquaFlo xpe2 and xp2 You turn on the power. The spa pack clicks and enters priming mode. Nothing will come on. If I unplug the pump 1 from the board I am able to run the blower and pump 2 but pump 2 is not pumping at speed. Like half capacity. Also when I turn on the blower the pump slows more and you can tell there is a strain on the power source. Also… not all the jets have water running thru them when the blower is on. It does not matter where I move the pump one plug to….it will not come on. I am pretty sure I have a clog or an air lock but I don’t think that’s all that is going on. Also the heater comes on and tries to heat the water and the temperature rapidly goes up on the panel and the tub turns off or I get the DRY error message. I am struggling here. I am about ready to set the darn thing on fire. I work on it all the time and nothing. AI am so frustrated. I spent a lot of money to have brand new everything and it has not worked one time yet….Retrofit kit they said. Basically plug and play they said. Brand new spa pack and pumps….it will work like a dream they said. Keep in mind that It set for about two years while I was buying and paying out each new piece. I cannot afford anything else for this thing and I can not afford paying someone to fix or work on it. I lay awake night after night praying that the next day it will work and I can disappear in the bubbly goodness and my pain can abate for a short period. My son does as well and I cant stand to see him suffering. Please help me. Point me in some sort of direction.
  4. Hello all! Before I call a spa tech, My Coleman 411 keeps air-locking within 24 to 36 hours after I refill the tub or after burp the line between the heater and the wet end of the pump. Things I have done before this problem. 1) I installed a new pump and wet end 240 volt 2 speed (pump # 1) that circulates water for filter/heat circulate side of the system. 2) drained spa twice and filled with garden hose thru the filter intake hole. Clean filter and clean skimmer with no cracks or problems that would cause cavitation of the water flow. 3) semi new filter that was soaked and cleaned before spa was fired up after drain and fill. 4) I now notice on the bottom of the tub floor, a collection of what looks like pieces of a white/calcium looking particles the size of 1/4" or less. I vacuum them all up and a few days later there are more of them in the bottom of the tub floor. 5) There are no leaks from any of the threaded unions and no moisture inside the spa behind the spa insulated wall panels. 6) Burped the system between the heater and the wet side intake of the pump and again works fine for 24 to 36 hours before air lock again. Thank you in advance for you thoughts and wisdom!!! Rick Prineville Oregon 541 598 5455
  5. Hydro Spa Endurance - Water change a few weeks ago and have issues ever since. drained and refilled tub. Started it back up and got FLO message. Removed filter and tried to restart to no avail. After researching, thought is may be an air lock. Have cracked all fitting around heater but still have FLO message on startup. If I turn jets on as soon as I power the spa back up, it will run and heat up to the desired temp. and kick off as normal but when temp. drops a few degrees and spa tries to fire heater again, FLO message will appear and will not heat and jets will not come on even if I hit the button. If I power it off and back on, hit jets button again, it will repeat the above process. Any suggestions? I have photos of the inside plumbing and electrical systems but I'm new here and haven't figured out how to post photos yet.
