  1. I have the same Problem going on in the same spa, Who can help me? It has been 2 years since Mike left his reply... It's a Tiger River "Bengal" series and it leaking from the Right front corner "Right of control panel" of the spa from the bottom right corner and coming from a screen. I looked in the front panel and everything is dry as well as the right side panel. I also took off the corner trim and dry in there. I used a mirror to look under the corner and water appears to be coming from a little white tube about 1/2 inch in diameter from under the screen.. this model id from around 2004ish
  2. Okay guys, I seek your expertise! I just bought this master spa 66t9 the other day. It has been sitting for over a year. Some of the jets seem clogged but all functional. I want it to be as close to perfect as possible. Under the control panel there is this hose that appears it broke off from somewhere but I cant seem to find where it is suppose to be hooked. It doesnt leak water or anything since it is the same hose that is wrapped up and ziptied, and covered in the foam in the left side of the picture! Any ideas to where this tube should go or connect to? Please help me! lol. I'm a spa newbie, trying to learn more to not only service our own but help others as well.
  3. Hi I have an old (1995!) Cal Spa Supra model PS5. I'm replacing a 5 port 1.5" valve (https://spacare.com/CalSpafiveWayVerticalValvePLU21100090.aspx) for the air channel/rejuvenetor seat/floor and wall jets, since the old one is cracked and slowly leaking water. There is also a much bigger leak in one of the hoses (to the wall jets maybe?) coming from the valve, too. Do I only need to fix the leaks, or should I worry about water in this valve and in the air hose line? No water in hose where the blower is attached.
  4. Hi, i'm the owner of an Artesian Spa. Serie Island spa, model Grand Cayman. Bought in th 2010 I noticed a few weeks ago a leak in my spa. The concrete around the spa is always wet and I found that i'm losing about 1/2 inch by 3 days. I started to try finding the leak. My last test was this one : - I emptied completely the spa - let it dry for 1 week (everything was now dry around the spa) - fill it up with only 1 foot of water (just to have water above all the holes (jets, pump intake, pump outake, etc.) in the foots area - let it sit for 24 hours (i didn't start any pump) I then noticed again a leak...some water came out around the spa. So, my guess is good (i think) that the leak is somewhere around the foot area. Now, my interrogation is : is there any "common issue" or easy thing that I can try based on my investigation ? I don't know but maybe it can be just a gasket or something like that. I would like to try everything before having to flip the spa on the side to access the under foot area. Any help will be appreciate. thanks

  6. I am a newbie to this forum AND a first time hot tub owner. Recently bought a house that included a HotSpring Jetsetter. Prior owner signed a paper that said it was in fine working order - but it was not (but that is not the issue!). Actually it is in spectacularly good condition (the prior owners were fuss-buckets), and while I don't know the year exactly - it is pre-2005 because in 2006 Watkins changed the dimensions and ours is the smaller pre-2005 size. The problem is that it is leaking, badly (like 3 inches a day). I have traced the leak to the bottom drain since it will drain completely empty except for a minimal amount in the drain well in the bottom of the hot tub. I unscrewed the drain cover and looked in-don't see any obvious cracks. There is no leakage at all in the control panel/machinery compartment nor from the two external drain caps. Looking underneath (barely possible, BTW) it seems to be dripping from the bottom around where the spa floor drain is. It is a bit smelly (smells likes a sweaty horse!). I am definitely a "do it yourselfer type person" - but of course I know the tub would have to be jacked up and foam dug out to pinpoint the exact leak and fix. The QUESTION is - where can I find a plumbing diagram for a HotSpring Jetsetter so I know what is beneath the drain in regards to replacement parts? The guy at the HotSpring store said it was a manifold that sprouts a bunch of tubes like an octopus - and that if the prior owner did not properly winterize - those manifolds crack. I can find no reference to the part nor any diagrams that shows how the bottom drain is plumbed. Any advice? Yes, I already tried fix-a-leak - which slowed the leak DRAMATICALLY, but did not fully fix. I wish I could buy a new hot tub - but I have other more pressing repairs with the new (old) house, so I can't spend a fortune. HALP!!!! Thanks so much.
  7. I have a Hot Spring Spa Envoy 2006 M# KK3H1550. Leaking from bottom of side panel. I tried to use search feature above, but does not respond. No leakage inside the equipment area. I did drain the spa in stages until it stopped leaking at the small jets at calf level in captains chair. So am I going to have to jack up and block the spa and dig out foam to find this leak? Is there any thing I can do to test the jet ports and possibly correct the leakage from the outside? I am a plumber by trade and very handy with a lot of things. Spas are something I am not familiar with. Please help.
  8. Upon opening my pool this year, I was greeted with a leak. It took a while to locate and extract the damaged pipe. Turns out it was in a piece of Flex PVC pipe. I'm trying to determine the cause of the failure... 18 years of use before rupturing. The pipe was completely encased in gunite. Anybody seen bulging in a pipe like this? Any ideas?
  9. My education in spa plumbing continues! Thanks to the help I received on this board I have spliced in a new stretch of flex pvc to fix an earlier leak, replaced my jet pump’s wet end, but now . . . I found another leak. This one is right at the base of where a piece of flex pvc enters a 4-way junction (“manifold”?). Based on the location (rear right of the spa) and the number of pipes I assume this feeds the four precision jets located just above the moto massager. Unfortunately I do not think there is any un-broken flex pvc near the base onto which I could cement a fitting. So what do you think? -I could plast-aid around the leak and hope for the best; - I could cut out the whole assembly and splice in a new 4-way manifold snug up against the larger t fitting below, and then splice in 4 pieces of flex pvc with a fitting each; or - something else? If #2, I assume I just buy a new fitting like this? Here's a video of the leak. It's hard to see but i think the break is on the lower right most pipe, facing in toward the other pipes. Apologies for the shakiness. And thanks in advance for any help! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrCf-5eaExw
  10. Hi all, My attempts to bring a 2001 Hot Spring Vanguard back to life continue! The Wavemaster 9000 (ver. 2) Jet Pump has a leak. As you can see in this animated .gif or in the full linked video (click here) it looks like it comes out from both around the shaft and through the volute cover. My question is if anyone has an opinion about whether I should first try to replace the shaft seal and volute o-ring, or whether I should just go for the complete wet end replacement. Obviously the first is much cheaper, but if it's clear from either the quantity of water or the location of the leak that it requires a whole new wet end I'd rather do it right the first time. Thank you!
  11. Hi all, I put my leaking Vanguard up on cinder blocks and dug up through the bottom to find the location of a leak (hopefully *the*leak.) But could someone help me understand what I’m looking at? I’m assuming this is a stretch of flex PVC that is encased in insulating foam? It has a kind of bulge in it -- is that just a random accumulation of foam or a fitting? Water drips off the bottom of the bulge and it feels like the area above it is burst wide open. I was thinking I should cut out the damaged section, and PVC cement in a new short stretch with a fitting on either side, but I can’t quite imagine how I will clean all that foam off for a good fitting. The leak is approximately between "I" and "J" in the red area below (the leak drains the tub down to the jet stream jet "J" without the spa running): Here is a video that shows the leak location: https://youtu.be/tJKnqA7adhk Thank you in advance for any help or advice!
  12. Hi all, I recently took a chance on paying to move a free 2001 Hot Springs Vanguard. The owners said the “pump and heater” were replaced in the “last few years.” They also said there was a small leak from a “pump or hose.” I figured as long as it’s drained I might as well do a few replacements/repairs that are likely culprits for the leak. Reading around it seemed like the pump is a likely source, so I though I’d just look to see which pump --- circulation or jet --- was recently replaced, and then go ahead and replace the other one (figuring it was probably due after 14 years.) But, looking inside, neither pump seems particularly new, and both pumps match the specs on the original spa: a Wavemaster 9000 jet pump and a Silentflo 5000 circ pump. I do think the heater was replaced but more like 7 years ago than “a few.” So this raises some questions: - any thoughts on either pump as a more likely source of a leak? I read that a new pump seal is a good, cheap first fix for a potential leak but I’m not sure which pump or how to find the correct seal for these older pumps. - any advice on a general strategy for repairs or tune ups to do *before* I get this thing wired up and filled up? Or do I need to just get it running and then try to diagnose any issues? - any other obvious red flags you can see in the pics below (hopefully clickable thumbnails)? Many thanks in advance for your thoughts!
  13. Hi All, I'm posting for help as I really want to get my hot tub back up and running (we took it down for the winter because I got a job out of town). We bought our hot tub second hand two years ago. Didn't have any issues for the first year, however, at the end the second summer, we starting having unexplained leaking and an HL code that will NOT go away. Each day we have to add water to the tub because the volume has significantly gone down. However, when taking off the panels, there is no evidence of leaking water anywhere to be found! It doesn't make sense! Also, our HL code came on (I'm wondering if it might have been the result of a power outage tripping it?). We have tried resetting the GFCI several times, but it will never go away. The water is certainly not at a super high temp... it seems to be normal temp (or maybe a bit cooler than normal? I seem to think it's colder but my husband thinks it's normal hah) I had a local technician come out, but it was extremely expensive and I didn't really get any answers. In order to check the seals and check the heater, he had to empty the tub, which then we couldn't check the leaking or whatnot because there was no water. He recommended I get a new pump and a hair pin element but I'm not entirely sure this is the solution. I also could not find either of the parts needed on the website he provided (to avoid buying through the company at a MUCH higher price). I don't want to spend all that money on new parts without being sure. Anyone have a similar situation that could help?
  14. Hi, we inherited a hot tub after buying a house, and we finally decided to try it for the first time in over 2 years. After cleaning it out and filling it up, it seemed to be working well. However, I looked in the maintenance panel and see a leak from one of the pipes. It appears to be a coming from a clamp from the computer to the pump. I've linked to two images -- one showing the exact location of the leak, and one showing a picture. Should I put some pipe sealant on this or get a new clamp? http://s7.postimg.org/5rfu1eu5n/leak.png http://s7.postimg.org/x4l0w60q3/leak.jpg
  15. After butchering the cedar panel siding of my 17 year old tub and tearing out foam to locate several incessant leaks over the last few months, I've found the leaks coming from behind several of the jets where the PVC elbow fitting meets the flex pipe. Whats the best way to fix this? Could I seal it with marine epoxy or some sorta plumbers putty? PVC glue?
  16. The folks at my local pool store swear up and down that it must by my Hayward multi-port valve. The handle doesn't snap back into place when you pull it down. I took it apart and sure enough the spider gasket is in very rough shape (glued!) and I guess I'm going to replace the top part of the valve as well since the handle/spring seems worn out. Here's the problem. It doesn't make sense to me. If the multipart was leaking then wouldn't water come out of the discharge line? Wouldn't leaking only occur when the pump is on? Somebody please set me straight.
  17. I recently bought a house that came with a Sundance brand hot tub. I've had a guy come out and fix one obvious leak that was there and since then I've discovered another leak. I've tried Fix-a-Leak on it, and it worked initially, but the leak is back. It's coming from a large opening behind the electronics panel on the side of the tub. Here's a picture: http://imgur.com/jBnrjoX
  18. I have a In Ground Pool that after the automatic cleaning system is engaged or regular filter is used sucks all the water out of the out take containment area that goes to the pump until it is sucking air. When this happens the pump is running air at this point and i have to shut the pump off. What I've done so far is: 1. Filled pool above the water line in water containment area that goes to the pump for filtering. 2. Cleaned both the trap filter and the paper filter. 3. Ran it using the auto cleaning system and without using the skimmer. 4. I've filled the pool up several times repeating this and water seems to going somewhere somehow. 5. Uncovered all the pipes up to where they go under the concrete and found no leaks. Please help and if not enough info let me know. David
  19. I had a new Lonestar Fiberglass Pool installed in August 2013. It has leaked somewhere since. The installer has pressurized lines, replaced skimmer, we've tried everything. The pool drops at least 1 inch a day, regardless of humidity. It seems to slow or stop after it gets lower than the skimmer, and lower than the lights and discharge and suction line. It has one skimmer, three lights, four jet spas (over the two seats), one suction/vacumn line and 3 discharge lines. I've done the bucket test many many times and it fails every time. Any ideas out there? Cal
  20. Hello. I have a 2002 Hotspring Spa Prodigy that was in perfect working order. Yesterday I turned on the clean cycle and noticed a trickle of water coming out of the vent located at the bottom of the tub in the front corner on the left side of the tub (where the circular hole with wire mesh is). The leak can be varied in flow by adjusting the jet selector dial. The main compartment where the heater and controls are is dry but I noticed the black 3-way connector (with 2x 3/4" tubes and 1x 1/8" tube) has a little water in the vertical 3/4" tube and the 3/4" horizontal tube. Can anyone tell me what this three way pipe does and if this can be the cause of my new leak? I read somewhere that this pipe is no longer used in newer models. If this is the issue, what part do I need to order? I took pictures that you can view here: https://www.icloud.com/photostream/#A25yeZFhMx3GE Hopefully you can see the water I'm talking about. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! Cheers! Alan
  21. I noticed a slow leak in the corner of the hot tub by the corner seat with the precision jets. I am assuming the leak is due to the jets in that seat. My question is more based on how do I take off the corner panel to the hot tub. I removed the side panel expecting the other panel next to it to be able to be removed but that was not the case. Do I need to just pry off the three vertical side panels and replace them or nail them back on when I'm done. I am assuming the leak is from an elbow joint or connection or something of this nature in that corner. It is very slow (about a drip per second) and haven't even been able to notice it by water level yet. I just recently got the hot tub for free and it has worked fine up until this point so I would like to fix it quickly. Thanks for any help.
  22. I need some advice. I just purchased a brand new Contractor Series 738 by Master Spa was delivered July 31 2012. Had it hooked up by a professional electrician. Filled it up using the instruction manual. Immediately there is a leak close by the pump coming from a breathing tube (it bubbles air and leaks) I immediatley placed a bowl under that leak to catch the constant drips. The same day a few hours after initial set up, I noticed water pooling in the bottom of the cabinet inside. Being it was a Sunday the company I purchased it from was closed. Called Monday morning and received a return call back Tuesday. The young man asked for the photos I took, at this point the water is now seeping outside the cabinet onto the concrete pad. 2 weeks have gone by and another gentleman called from the company I purchased from saying they would send someone out. Now here is my dilema.....Do I insist on a brand new spa? Return it and get my money back? or just have them fix this problem (whatever it is) and hope for the best in the future with my lemon? Help me.....
  23. About 3 weeks ago, we opened our Saratoga Spa Adirondack tub, circa 2002, to discover the water level to be less than half full. There has never been an indication of a leak before. We bought it used about 6 years ago and have not had any problems except for a pump that went bad last year and was replaced. Our village has hard water. We had to go out of town, so we left it as is for a couple of weeks. When we came home, we started researching how to diagnose and repair leaks, and two nights ago, decided to start trouble-shooting. We took the front and back sides off (reluctant to remove the left and right sides because that would mean removing the lifter and the wood there has already been compromised). We spotted one piece of PVC piping connected to one of the pumps in the front that looked like it had some white, flaky calcification, so we expected to see the leak coming from there. We filled the tub and sat back, and waited to see the water coming out. And waited. And waited. It's not leaking. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before? Is it possible some minerals in the water self-repaired the leak? Are there any other possible explanations? We'd be thrilled if there's not actually a leak, but what happened to 200 gallons of water 3 weeks ago?
  24. Good Morning, I just inherited a 2001 Coast Spa Platinum Bahama Soundwave hot tub. We have it up and running, but had noticed some water loss over the first few days of use. The jets are all fiber optic. The best way I can describe the jet body is that the fiber optic has a plastic like straw in the middle enclosing the fiber optic strands. Two of these fiber optic covers have broken off and we figured this is where the leaks are. Any ideas on how to go about fixing this? Do I have to drain the tub and replace the jet bodies somehow? Can I just drain the tub and use clear silicone to patch the leak? Anyone have any experience with this type of problem please let me know. Thank you so much for your time and help! Sarah First time hot tub owner
  25. I have a Hot Springs Envoy spa that is about 7 years old. It has a minor leak. Due to the location of the tub on my deck and the remote location of my home, the labor repair cost alone will be about $4,000 (removal of the deck railing, crane, etc.). I had a technician come out and look they can only access the front panel where all of the pumps and control panel are located. They do not see a leak at the pumps. As a last resort, I am going to try a liquid stop leak in a bottle product. Has anybody had any experience (success?) with this type of repair? I have looked at several brands: Fix a leak “The Orginal” by Marlig Industries, Pool and Spa Leak fix, Watertite Leak Stopper for Spa./Pool, Leisure Time Stop Leak. Surprisingly the Marlig product gets rave reviews online. I am only interested in feedback from people who have used this type of products. As I stated the labor and equipment rental to repair the tub will be over $4,000. This is a last ditch effort. If it doesn't work I will be investing in a new hot tub. Any feedback regarding the leak in a bottle repair would be greatly appreciated. HELP!!!!
