  1. I've lost all the Lighting in my tub. I'm assuming it's the LED controller but I can't find it. When I find it, I'll check to make sure there's voltage getting to it. If there is voltage, I'll likely try to replace the controller. When I find it and remove it, maybe I'll try to get it repaired. So to recap; Where is it? Any tips on troubleshooting it? Jacuzzi J375, 2014
  2. I bought a house in Walnut Creek, California with a 2006 Jacuzzi J-325 hot tub. I wanted to shut it down for the winter so I drained the tub. The instructions then say to pull the smaller drain plug off the pump to let an additional gallon of water out. Well, I finally found that drain plug but it is down under some larger pipes and there is no way to get a grip on it. It is not coming off. The larger (white) plumbing pipes are secured to the pump by round grey fittings but I couldn't make them budge either. First question is, do I really need to drain the water from the pump? The temp gets to
  3. I have a J-495. Temp set at and reads 98, but actual temp is 106. Is there an calibration / adjustment I can make without calling a technician to come out? Thanks, Jim.
  4. Hello, Wondering if anyone can help me identify what this is. Recently had an FL2 error code on my spa and while inspecting the wires behind the panel I noticed some charring in an area towards the bottom of the control box. This was lying at the bottom of the box. The tub seems to work fine other than the FL2 error and I can’t find anywhere on the board where this would have come from.
  5. Feel like I've read every thread possible but looking for a simple answer I can't seem to find anywhere!! I currently have this paver patio laid in my backyard and I wanted to know if I can place the hot tub on top of the pavers that are already laid. As you can see, the pavers are slightly uneven (its very slight, less than an inch with some in the middle being a little higher than where the outsides would like) and I know hot tubs are supposed to be level. My question is what is the best way to level the hot tub on this surface? Is there a need to buy Handi-Spa pads and will placing
  6. My J385 is stuck in watch dog mode. No noise nothing. I tested the temp sensor and Hi Lo sensor and they both seemed bad. I have replaced both and still nothing. If i disconnect the (J6) sensor plug from the circuit board and power up i get the relevant set of error codes as though all the sensors are missing. Tested the new sensors and they seem fine, i must be missing something. Rest of the circuit board seems fine, no bulging caps, no burnt out components. Any help greatly appreciated, may also be worth mentioning the flo sensor was replaced a few months ago.
  7. Looking for advice, my control panel on the J-480 (model year 2012) needs to be replaced and a dealer/repair shop quoted $1,380 just for the panel. Can someone confirm that this is a reasonable price and if not, what would be reasonable?
  8. 390 gal hot tub can’t measure free mchlorine. Added 5 scoops of R-0870 and still no pink. New Taylor kit and chemicals. Hot tub was unused for many months. Added multiple spoonfuls of Clorox pool and spa chlorinating granules and ran jets. Anything else I should do?
  9. I purchased a home that came with a Jacuzzi J-LX. I am a newbie when it comes to maintenance. The previous owner left very detailed instructions, but I still find myself a little unsure. The Jacuzzi J-LX has sat unused for a few months, and it seems like it's time for a full flush of the system (according to previous owner, should be done every 6 months). I plan on purchasing SeaKlear Spa System Flush and putting in 4 table-spoons per 100 gallons as described (4 * 3.9). Then I will run the jets for 15-30 minutes. After that, I will use a TACKLIFE-GSUP1A submersible pump to remove the water.
  10. I'm down to these 3 manufacturers for my new hot tub, replacing a 12yr old Cal Spa. Wet tested all. Most concerned about Marquis being the smallest local shop. The debates over all foam or no foam for insulation is still a bit confusing. I'm looking for any pro's or con's with recent experience on any of these (warranty support, energy use, leaks, jet problems or other operational issues) Tubs being considered are J375 for Jacuzzi, Utopia for Caldera and Marquis Signature Epic. Thanks. Paul
  11. Hi! We are looking at the sundance Chelsee, J365 and Caldera Salina. They all have been quoted at aroud $9600-9700 except for the J365 that we could get for $9234 for a 2016 floor model. Those are supoosed to be sale prices. for president day week end. 1.They dont seem to be willing to negotiate really. Is that common? They all went down from the original price before we even said anything, but that's their final price and that's it. 2. Are those reasonable prices? 3. Is it correct to assume to going to a lower series (j200, sundance 680...) might end up being more expensive b
  12. Hello, We recently started looking for a 5-6 persons hot tub. We have no experience and no idea what we're talking about but we're learning. We looked at jacuzzi, Caldera and Cal spas tubs. A sale person told us that Caldera was the best, and that we would not find any complaints about any model....we quickly find that to be wrong, even though it does seem to be a good brand. He then told us we could get the Geneva floor model for 10000, tax included, with cover, steps, delivery and so on...We went home trying to find what this spa goes for, but it's so hard to find prices anywhere!!!! It
  13. I have a sorry leaking Coleman Horizon 400 from the mid nineties. I have patched a couple minor and major leaks but I am done with it. I am looking at a bunch of spas right now. I am shooting for $6000-$8000 after negotiations. I am not interested in sound or lights. I am not really concerned with having a bunch of jets. It will be in the snow outdoor so insulation is very important to me. After working so long on a full foam I kind of have PTSD about it but I also want efficiency. I don't want a lounge. On my short list right now is... Cal Spa EC-735B in the mid $6k North Winds (C
  14. I am contemplating Jacuzzi J-470 or the Dimension Lotus Bay. Both around the same price. I've wet tested a 300 series Jacuzzi and liked it. Neither dealer has a Lotus Bay or J-470 to wet test. Looking for differences in jet pressure, efficiency, and filtration between these two spas, especially if you can offer as a comparison to the J-385. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.
  15. I want to take some time to give credit to a great service tech that I had the opportunity to deal with yesterday. I found him on a forum and he was nice enough to send out his email address if anyone needed help. I have talked with a lot of people in my life but never anyone this sharp. Within minutes he not only had my issue diagnosed and fixed but he knew each and every detail about my spa. He gave me great advice about things moving forward and he was one of the most polite people I have ever spoke to on the phone. I emailed him about the issues and I received a response within a day.
  16. Hello: I am trying to re-install an eight foot Jacuzzi Fibre King Diving Board, and find myself with a confusing array of parts (and no user manual). Are there any members who may have some idea about assembly? I have linked an image below. Thanks!! http://imgur.com/a/djOj8
  17. Hello Everyone, I have been reading around the forums and learning a lot but still have some trouble. I am looking into getting a open style tub with no lounge. I like the idea of a 7ft or larger tub that is at least 36 inch deep. I am 6'4 and need the extra space. The other people that will be getting in the tub are also tall. I am running into problems trying to figure out what model to pick, the cleaning of the water and getting the most bang for my buck. The two places I have here locally are Hot Spring and Jacuzzi. Both look great but I am not sure what one to go with and what is better
  18. Hello All- This is my very first post as I am jumping into the spa ownership world..... . Anyway, I picked up a VERY used Jacuzzi Lexus spa with no knowledge of it working other than the seller telling me it works. (the seller bought it from an estate sale, moved it to their house, then realized that they would have to do too much to get 220 to box so they decided to sell it without even using it) I paid $175 for it so I am not out too much if it does not work. I am plugging it in tonight and giving it a test run to see what works and what doesn't work. I have an electirician friend help
  19. Hello, I'm new to this forum, so I appologize in advance if this has been covered. I couldn't find the search function in the interface. I have a Z-110 that I purchased in the mid-90s when I moved into my new house. Still works great even after replacing components on a regular basis. After draining the tub and going on vacation, I returned, filled the tub and discovered that the single button on the analog topside unit that cycles through on-light-jets etc stopped working. The temperature set dial works, as does the light indicating that the heater is on. The only thing not working is t
  20. I am considering buying a Jacuzzi.. And while I know its brand name is synonymous with hot tubs, my question is really about its engineering and reliability. I had a Phoenix before and they are out of business. I also am confused about the merits and demerits of full foam vs a dead air space in the frame. I am not going to visit umpteen places and here every salesmen tout all the differences. It is worse than buying a mattress!! So just some substantive and engineering oriented replies please. Thanks so much.
  21. when trying to start the pump to circulate water a flat loud sound blew one of the fuses. should i try to start again after replacing the fuse Hard to find 250 v 30 a. or should i try something first? dstoyano@yahoo.com
  22. Hello and thank you in advance for your help. We are purchasing a new hot tub - not our first, but the first time we've purchased ourselves. We are trying to stay under $7000. Powerful jets are my number one concern because I use the tub for serious therapy. I've been looking so far at Caldera - the Vacanza Series, Vanto ($6500 quote), fits our budget but I'm a bit concerned about power and its warranty. The Bullfrog is intriguing - I realize I'll never buy new jetpacks, but it is nice to start with a customized tub (I have a $7500 quote on the R6) I'm hoping to go look at the Dimension
  23. Hello! We are buying our first hot tub and are considering three models: the Marquis Reward, the Artesian Antigua and the Jacuzzi 355. So far we've wet tested the Artesian, and my 5'2 self could not stay put in the lounge. The salesman suggested I turn off some of the leg jets to fix it, which seems to defeat the purpose. Price is around $8,100 out the door with steps and a cover lift. The Jacuzzi dealer doesn't have a lounge model filled to wet test (the two they have filled have regular seats), but the salesman doesn't think I'll have a problem in the lounger because of how deep the but
  24. Hi Folks, First time hot tub buyer in Ottawa Canada, and my wife and I are driving each others nuts with the various selection and information overload. We have narrowed our choice down to two (we think), the Jacuzzi 365 and the Elite Maax 5400, ironically both from Club Piscince. We love the fact that Jacuzzi has been around forever BUT are scared by the shift to Mexico and the much more limited warranty they seem to offer. Why only ten years on structure when everyone else seems to offer a lifetime? Really liked the Elite Maax but in reading a lot of forums and looking at some rating
  25. All - I got my first tub last year with a lot of help from all of you! I searched and didn't see anything around this so thought I'd post it. I just bought my replacment Clearray UV bulb last week and came across this coupon. I pain $60.47 out the door at Ace Swin and Leisure in Rochester, NY. They say you need to drain the tub or pull the two lines and put a wine cork in the lines. I'm going to wait another month and do my final change before winter. Bleach / DiChlor is a great method. Once you get the hang of it and balancing it the first time, it make tub maintenance so easy. Here
