  1. Hi, I have recently replaced my pool vinyl liner, my pool is rectangle shape like this one: https://www.lathampool.com/products/rectangle/. I recently discovered on the shallow flat side of the pool (3 ft underwater ) there is a piece of debri under the liner, it might be a rock, twig, or a piece of metal (may be a screw or something lying flat). Whatever is under the liner, is large enough to cause a ridge on the liner surface which is 1-2 inch long and 0.2 to 0.4 inch high. I am concerned if that is problematic, what problems it can cause, can it damage the liner or reduce the life of liner? Any suggestions on how to take that piece of debris out would be highly appreciated? Thank you in advance for any guidance and help.
  2. Feel like I've read every thread possible but looking for a simple answer I can't seem to find anywhere!! I currently have this paver patio laid in my backyard and I wanted to know if I can place the hot tub on top of the pavers that are already laid. As you can see, the pavers are slightly uneven (its very slight, less than an inch with some in the middle being a little higher than where the outsides would like) and I know hot tubs are supposed to be level. My question is what is the best way to level the hot tub on this surface? Is there a need to buy Handi-Spa pads and will placing a Spa Pad over this area make the hot tub sink in more level? https://www.spadepot.com/Handi-Spa-Pads-Box-of-3-P847?zmam=55673001&zmas=1&zmac=1&zmap=AC1058&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIx-e07aSV5wIVnv_jBx0o5AiREAQYBSABEgJllvD_BwE are what I am referring to Can I just buy heavy duty wedges and slide them around the hot tub to make up for the extra space? https://www.amazon.com/Ez-Shim-Heavy-Duty-Shims-count/dp/B002Y0LIQE Is another option to lay a level of gravel down to try to make up for some of the unevenness on top of the rocks? Or can someone just tell me if this uneven paver really isnt that terrible and I really shouldn't worry about it in the long run? Help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!! hot tub is here next week so I do not wan to dig up the pavers. I can always get a pad and put it on the grass but I've read pavers are a good choice. Thank you!!
  3. Hi All, I'm a new and novice owner of a previously used redwood hot tub. I need to prep a place for it in my highly challenging San Francisco back yard. I have no access except through the house and the backyard is very, very sloped. I don't have a lot of options to get concrete back there so I would like to hear about people's expience using pavers or stone as the base for the wooden tub. As an aside: 1) I'd like to know what kind of brush I could use to periodically scrub the inside of the tub when there is lignen or other build-up. 2) I'd like to potentially restore the finish of the tub prior to re-installation. Any tips? Thanks!! -Hopper
  4. Hi I have in-ground vinyl liner pool that is in the process of liner replacement , I decided to replace the skimmer , since it has been there for at least 20 years . So I broke the patio concrete , dug up the skimmer , and discovered that an opening in the steal wall where skimmer mounts to is corroded , especially the bottom portion , the clearance holes where screws goes through are rusted out to the point that i can't mount thew skimmer . My few questions are as follows : Can I cut new opening for a just a few inches over in the steal wall and drill new clearance holes ? Plug old one with a piece of sheet metal and move the skimmer over ??? Can I use a piece of flex pipe to connect the skimmer to an existing rigid pipe that is coming out of the ground ?? I would appreciate some input from you guys
  5. I am a newbie pool owner, so I am not familiar with the pool equipment yet. I bought a Hayward Chlorine Feeder (CL220 Off-Line Automatic), but I don't know where to attach it. You can see pictures of my pool equipment at http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8BauGTlq4ZKLVQ
  6. Hi All.. I just installed a HS Grandee on crushed stone. I had the landscaper do the normal approach to compacting the foundation with process or whatever they call it and then had him set a small layer of crushed stone 3/4" for the finished look. The spa is almost completely level and only a minor smidge off in two corners...so so slightly. I now noticed this "NOTE" in the install manual and its got me worried about my foundation not being good enough. Can anyone comment on this or have any feedback ? Thanks... GROUND PREPARATION Your Hot Spring spa has been engineered to perform on all kinds of common yard surfaces. While a concrete slab is best for long-term use*, other foundations are acceptable so long as a level base is prepared prior to delivery. Three foundation base pictures, shown at right, represent examples of alternatives to a concrete slab for spas installed without gazebos or other accessories. *NOTE: A reinforced concrete pad at least four inches thick or a deck that is able to withstand more than 115 lbs. per square foot is required for the Vista and Grandee spas , and recommended for the ..."
  7. Hello, i was trying to get my Balboa VS501Z hot tub running, but i wanted to make sure that i have the correct Amps. The back says 16A/32A, So would i set the circuit breaker to 40 to cover both 16 and 32? Thanks in advance for any and all help
  8. Recently my 30' Zenith pool failed when the liner breached. It was four years old. The installer that I contracted to replace the liner discovered there were no supporting blocks under any of the pillars. Some of the posts had sunk and caused a metal panel to come out of the groove which caused the failure. My question is whether that is considered good workmanship. The pool was installed by a APSP certified professional. Thanks for your opinions. Bill H
  9. For somebody who is pretty handy and use to fixing most everying around the home, is installing a new pool heater doable or something left to the professionals?
