  1. You might want to head over to troublefreepool.com and check out their SLAM process for getting rid of algae. As for why it's happening in the first place - it's due to not having the right chlorine level for the cyanuric acid in your pool water. Once that is set you can remove phosphates to make it harder for algae to reproduce.
  2. We're having a new in ground gunite pool built. Pool builder installed 6" of waterline tile (5 rows of 1" x 2" ceramic tile). The pool will have an automatic cover. We would like to add 2 more rows of the 1" x 2" tiles to the existing tile. Pool builder's tile guy won't do it - said he'd need to remove the existing tile and gave a price indicating he really doesn't want to do it. We're trying to find another tile guy to do the work. Is there any special problems we should look out for?
