  1. I have the same hot tub. Same problem. Turned out to be a blown heater relay. They actually run 2 relays in series to the left side. But after I pulled the board I found a cold solder post on the one closest to the heater. But, I checked the relay and it was also fried. It's just not good practice to run 15 amps thru a circuit board. That's what this heater draws. So I found a relay from ebay that has the extra posts on top of the relay. This allows you to run a parallel circuit to the heater and cut the current draw in half. That relay is (Hongfa HF2160-1A-120E). But they come on a slow boat from china. Takes a few weeks.
  2. It's just not good practice to run 15 to 20 amps thru a circuit board. That's what it takes to run heaters. I had the same problem, so I desoldered the relay and replaced it with a similar relay that has the extra posts on top of the relay(ebay has them). That allows you to wire a parallel path to the heater, cutting the current draw on the circuit board in half. Working great so far.
  3. I had the same problem. I framed it in with 2x4's , leveled out. Then poured it with concrete. Didn't take much concrete, so I bought bags of cement and mixed it in a mixer. 5 years and still counting.
  4. You were right. It was a blown relay. Once i got the board out, I noticed a cold solder post on this relay. But, the relay was also fried. Replaced it with a relay that has the extra post on the top of the relay. This allowed me to wire a parallel circuit to cut the current draw in the circuit board. I didn't think putting 16 amps thru a circuit board was good practice.
  5. I have a Balboa CL501x1 . NO heat. I have 120 volts on the heater. SHould be 240. NO error codes on the display. I get the 120v from the right side of the board. I have 120v immediately after turning on the breaker. During the 6 second trial, the heat light comes on, but I still have only 120v at the heater, and no amp draw. Heater is 4kw and shows 14.5ohms. I've checked the back of the board. There was one post that was cold, but that was re-soldered. I'm thinking the board is bad. Any ideas?
