Poke to the top... Does no one know where that hose goes to? Thanks!

I have a 2005 Tiger River Caspian spa, with a heat problem. While trying to fix it, I broke a fitting. The 3/4" inch PVC elbow has clearly been professionally modified - the 3/4" hose is glued in, and there is (well, was 🙂 ) an attachment point for a 1/4" (?) hose. The hose goes from this elbow in towards the hot tub enclosure, to what I do not know... What does that hose go to? (The attached photo has red circles on both ends of the hose.) Can I just drop that connection? (If so, I could just glue the hole in the elbow and re-use.) If I can drop it, do I need to plug the hose? If I need to keep that connection, are those modified elbows available for purchase? Or would I need to repair this one (might be hard) or re-fab another elbow? Thanks!!
