Just thinking that the electric would be more cost efficient most of the time. Is that incorrect?

Hi All, I am installing a swim spa which I want to use as a pool for 80% of the time, but then be able to heat it up quickly and use it as a spa. Is it possible to have both an electric and a gas heater? Electric to keep it at medium temperature most of the time, and then gas to heat it up quickly for a spa.
