  1. According to your diagram, the ozonator should be installed higher. While I noticed that the labels on the unit are upside down, I just assumed it was installed intentionally this way. But if it was installed rightside up, that ozone unit would be much nearer the water line as in your diagram. Is it possible the whole thing was installed upside down by mistake?!
  2. Yes, what you have explained is how I understand it as well. The previous post only showed the drip. Here is a photo that shows the ozone injector tube and the check valve. I didn't post this originally due to Nordic's comment about potentially voiding my warranty by opening equipment, but according the ozone manual this check valve is a serviceable part that is supposed to be replaced once a year and there was no seal or warning on the cover saying not to open it. As you can see, it is not looped up above the water line. There are no holes in the cover for the tube to be routed upward in a hartford loop. My guess is that the whole unit is intended to be installed higher. One could drill holes in the plastic cover and create loop easily enough, but since its under warranty I will let the service tech fix it.
  3. My Nordic Spas Warrior XL was finally delivered a couple months ago after many delays. The weather has been rainy, but with spring arriving things have dried out and I noticed some seepage around the bottom of my tub. I opened it to find 1/8 to 1/4 of water standing inside the base of the tub, and water dripping from a port on the sanitizing system. I looked up the installation manual for the Ozone generator they used in my tub, and it specifies that the ozone injector tube must be routed with a check valve above the water line. On my tub, this was not the case and the check valve is below the line of the top jets in my tub. Water is backing up through the ozone injector tubing and dripping out the port at the bottom of the ozonator. Clearly this is an installation issue by Nordic. I contacted Nordic to let them know about this problem while waiting for a callback from my dealer. I was polite, explained the problem, and sent them photos. They responded stating that all of theirs are installed with a check valve above the water line (obviously not true as mine is below the top jets) with a snarky comment about not opening parts under warranty and to contact my dealer. Since their attitude was not one of wanting to understand so that they could correct the installation problem on future tubs they build, I thought I would let folks who purchase a Nordic tub with Ozone to check that it is installed correctly and not dripping. You can see this just by opening the service door. If it is dripping, this should be corrected by your dealer re-routing the ozone injector tubing up higher with a check valve above the water line. I will update when the technician comes out.
  4. I got a Nordic Warrior XL a couple months ago. I thought the whirlpool sounded great, but in reality is simply pushes you sideways as you try to sit, so I rarely use that feature.
  5. Hello, I am a brand new hot tub owner! As I purchase all these different chemicals by Leisure Time, it occurs to me that they are might be very basic chemicals like chlorines, acids, bases, etc. So I was wondering if it is possible to source these from chemical suppliers rather than spa retailers. Case in point: My dealer did not include a solution for cleaning the filter. I found that Leisure Time sells a 32oz bottle of filter cleaner on Amazon for $23. Each use (every two weeks) is 16oz so that is a $23 bottle every month just for cleaning the filter. Leisure Time 56 Chlorine Granules are $80 for 5lbs. I have no idea how long this will last me, but if one knew the concentration (56%) and dosing, it seems like a much less expensive alternative could be found. After all, my hot tub manufacturer says to dissolve the granules in water before adding to the tub to prevent blistering. So why not use a less expensive chlorine liquid?
  6. I kinda get that the dealer is using a third party to deliver and this is why they want payment up front, but I think this is a reasonable solution. It's too bad the OP could not come to this kind of agreement with their dealer.
  7. Mine also asked for the balance the day before delivery. I thought about doing a hold back of $1K to make sure they did everything right, but in the end I just paid as I had waited nearly a year for the tub. I did pay with a credit card though instead of cash so I could request a chargeback or dispute. Everything worked out fine in my case.
  8. Old thread, but I've got questions because I'm a hot tub noob.... My dealer included a blanket with my spa. He said to drape it over the tub under the cover and not cut it to fit. He said this is to save the life of my cover. I live in Oregon with mild temperatures. This thing is ugly, and its a pain to deal with. Is it really necessary? Aren't hot tub covers made for hot tubs?
