  1. Hi do you have part numbers of replacement relays you ordered please thanks
  2. Hi what was the actual part numbers of the relays was it all 3 relays next to the actual heater power output on the pcb thanks
  3. Hi it is a system which was installed approximately 5-6 years ago initially few years ago the water pump was replaced due to a leak and it was replaced under warranty by company who installed the hot tub , anyway last year the temperature of the tub wouldn’t go above 26 degrees even though it was set to 40 degrees was very tepid , it was turned off drained cleaned new filter fitted etc refilled and it still wouldn’t go above 26 degrees , then suddenly weeks later the rcd / trip plug was buzzing away ended up turning it off got around to fitting new rcd/ trip plug recently and turning it back on and this time temp wouldn’t go above 12 degrees so I ended up doing tests I mentioned above and then came to conclusion it’s possibly a bad relay as no power to heater and no output from pcb to the heater element etc all fuses okay, resistance of heater appears to be good and I realised after researching this system doesn’t have a pressure switch it uses the two thermistors A and B as a flow sensor aswell as high limit stat so I wondered if the thermistors were out of spec not enough to pull a fault code but I did notice the cold temp led on the top side control panel flickering! I thought I’d try testing the thermistor,s but as you say the pump runs on low and high speed it’s just the heater isn’t working so trying to understand what else external to pcb could cause the no heat issue before condemning the pcb / relays I will test the thermistor,s over weekend , If anyone knows which is the heater relay please let me know as the circuit diagram does not specify, I might try to do a replacement myself.. anyway thanks for advice.. I will post another pic of circuit diagram and pcb board
  4. Hi thanks , I’ll test the thermistor,s as that’s been the only thing I have been thinking of before pcb , as I’m aware they can fall out of spec and not completely fail so no fault codes , I have a automotive background as a diag tech and just trying to sort my hot tub and understand what sensors would cause a no power to heating element situation , the hot tub doesn’t have a pressure/ flow sensor I know of ! only the two thermistor,s either side of heater which potentially could cut power to heater if failed for safety , appreciate your advice thanks I’ll test the thermistor,s first and then decide on relay replacement or complete pcb 👍
  5. Hi I’ve pulled the circuit board off to have a look there are no obvious burn marks on the back of it , I was looking at ways to temporarily bypass the relay ,today after refitting the pcb first time the cold temp led constant flashing on top display I only saw as solid led on before , only thing I haven’t tested yet is the thermistor,s either side of the heating element! can you think of anything else before I replace pcb or relays ? Many thanks
  6. Hi is there anyway of jumping the heater relay just for test purposes
  7. Hi thanks for response , the hot tub is on with temp set for 40 degrees and the temp it reading 12 degrees, I’ve checked the resistance of the heater with both terminals disconnected and it’s 30 ohms then I wasn’t sure if this is right but thought this is about right for a heater element if it’s 2000watts and it’s a 240 v power source using ohms law would work out at approximately 30 ohms , I checked the power at the heater nothing 0v then I’ve checked power at pcb output for heater element output it’s 0v too with hot tub calling for heat ! No fault codes flashing and can’t see if there is a pressure switch on this hot tub I’m aware some don’t have them also only two thermistor,s I can see is either side of the heater so thought I’m sure they may cause a no heat issue maybe check those next resistance test unplugged , all fuses are ok
  8. Hi Everyone new to forum I’ve a issue with the heater not working on my hot tub I’ve found a thread on here not sure if it’s still active or how to ask questions on there so I’ll explain, it’s got Balboa gsi100 written on the pcb box cover , I’ve basically checked the following power supply to heater no power , also checked the resistance of heater which is approx 30ohms , then power into the pcb is fine no power output to heater on pcb , I suspect one of the relays are bad any ideas on what to test further, I can not see any pressure switch anywhere and only two thermistor,s either side of the heater which I’ve not tested yet but there is no fault codes or flashing codes on the top side display and I see some led are present on the pcb but nothing at all lit up , the pump on the hot tub works fine just it’s not heating up just stays at 12 degrees any advice would be helpful thanks
