Hi dashmer. Thanks for the help. I raised the ta as per the shops recommendation. And low and behold as per your post my pH went throught the roof Ahhhh, seems hot tub is harder to look after than my swimming pool. Thanks

Hi, thanks the reply. So took sample to shop to do test. Ta is at 60 Digital ph showed ph at 7.2 and they did a tablet test that showed of the scale red. They said that to bring up the ta to 100 and then should sort the ph out. Brought some test straps and they show ph at 7.2 and ta at 80 So it's great getting diffrent results

Could it be because I just shocked it?

Hi, Has anyone got any ideas what I am doing wrong. I got a used spa that I pipe flushed twice and then had an issue with foam. That I have since worked out was comming from the head rests. So to be on the safe side I again Pipe flush spa 4 days ago Super clorinated spa for 72 hours Today emptied and cleaned spa Filled up with fresh water from mains. Ph 7.6 Added bromine tablets to skimmer basket Added 25g of non chlorine shock as per manufactures instructions 45 mins latter ph showing 8.2 Bromine levels not up yet but I expected that after only 45mins after adding it. The non chlorine shock says it does not effect the water chemistry. The water temp is only 17 as I decided this time I was not going spend electrity until everything else was OK. I am not used to bromine as I use chlorine in my pool. Does the bromine cause the ph to rise? Any ideas appreciated. Thanks

Hi and thanks for looking. I recently got a used hot tub, it seemed in good condition. The heater didn't work so replaced the element. It had been sitting for a whole so I did a purge twice as per the instructions on the bottle to clear out the bio film. Flushed a couple ofbtimes with clean water then filled it up and Started it up and heated up to 38c , put 2 bromine tablets in a floater shocked it with not chlorine shock. Bromine and ph were within the right range. Had a soak in it and got a little bit of foam. Next night a lot of foam and the water was fizzing qhen the jets were on. If you turn the jets off within a few seconds the foam and fizzing disappears. Checked the levels and all with in the ranges. Qhen I did the first purge some gunk came out but the second one nothing came out. This is my first time to have a hot tub. What have I done wrong? I have read about doing a purge and then putting bleach in to kill any bugs. So might try that VID-20220202-WA0001.mp4 VID-20220202-WA0001.mp4 Thanks for looking and any pointers welcome.
