  1. Total newb here, but I would plan to maintain 10 ppm FC for several days, or as long as needed until your chorine demand is back in check. There is a Chlorine Demand sticky in the resources tab, so give that a read if you haven't already. The trick here is to maintain shock levels until you are back at baseline contamination levels. It could take several days and you will need to test and replenish FC frequently at first. Good luck. Vigilance is key.
  2. Sure, you could use it for a water heater. You might need an IP65 junction box (also cheap) or something similar to mount the display. If your breaker box is anything like mine there's just no room in there and you're better off installing it at the heater. Talking hot tubs here - I installed it directly on my spa pack cover and that's worked out great so far.
  3. I recently had this same question and ended up installing a meter that logs kilowatt hours. For $20 its great . Now i know exactly how much power it uses and can calculate cost.
