When I power up (circuit breaker), it goes through power up cycle (240v, etc) then displays HOT. None of the control buttons work/respond.

Hi all, Just changed the topside control so I can read the code 'HOT". I haven't found any info on this, anyone out there experience this code? What are the likely causes or troubleshooting tips? Nothing in the Marquis owners manual on this code.
