Has anyone found a fitness tracker that works well in a swim spa? Most of them measure based on lap length. Any suggestions?

While on vacation, my neighbor, checking on my swim spa, added chlorine tablet to the skimmer. Now when I use my liquid test kit, instead of a shade of yellow, it is dark orange! I'm thinking it's just very high levels of chlorine, but when I test with the dip strip it seems to show LOW chlorine. Could there be something else going on?
