  1. Thank you for clarifying @RDspaguy! I’d feel much more comfortable if he would just hook it up you all have been so helpful! Thank you @cranbiz @CanadianSpaTech @RDspaguy
  2. Is he correct or should he have to come back and connect it?
  3. I wonder why he didn’t connect it then? The pump is way in behind. It’ll be impossible to connect now
  4. I had an electrician change the 15A breaker to a 20A (I double checked and the outlet, and writing was set up for a 20A). Everything has worked great so far! Likely didn’t need the new heater however the hot tub tech wants to charge me to take it back out again so might just keep it. The electrician recommended that I shorten the cord and perhaps put in a 12 gauge cord to replace the 16 gauge cord that is currently connected. There’s a little heat coming from the cord, just a tiny bit, so will monitor it. @CanadianSpaTech @RDspaguy @cranbiz when the spa tech replaced my heater he did not connect the copper ground back up to the lug on the front of the heater. Since everything running to the hot tub and within it is grounded do I have to hook this up to the front of the heater to use the tub safely? If so what do I run the wire to? It’s currently just disconnected and sitting at the bottom of the panel box so I don’t even know what it was hooked up to
  5. We are replacing the breaker today. We found out that it is wired for a 20A and hooked the hot tub up to our 20A generator last night and it ran perfect so fingers crossed
  6. Here’s the specs of the old to compare. I’ll get a photo of the new shortly
  7. @RDspaguy I’ll get one for you first thing tomorrow, I have the old pump too so will ensure the specs are the same, hoping that the spa tech would know to check that but just in case.......
  8. @RDspaguy yes, it’s tripping both. This has been happening only since the new pump was installed, not before. The only strange noises were last year from the pump but sounded much better this year, assuming it’s because it was so close to dying!? Takes about 10 mins to trip. Don’t think there’s anything else on the circuit except an outdoor light but haven’t turned it on at the same time as the hot tub. We have been using this circuit for 5 years and had no issues, plus tried other circuit and it still tripped the other breakers as well
  9. I replaced the gfci male end with a non gfci male end and it’s still tripping both that outdoor gfci outlet and breaker as well as the other we have been trying so likely not an issue with the breakers!?
  10. Yes, @cranbiz. Should I eliminate the gfci plug that the hot tub cord is hard-wired to and just replace with a regular plug? If that is safe to do so that would be great because they are so much cheaper! See photo with what I want to replace it with!
