If you have a circulation pump it's designed to run continus. If you just have a 2 speed primary pump it will run on low to circulate so it can not only heat but as also filter your spa. If your controls "went dead" as you all put it can be caused by pressing the pump or jets button to many times to fast while in setup mode and will cause those buttons to no longer register with the pack causing it to act like it's not working at all. Sometimes it can be reprogram to fix and sometimes the pack won't recognize the top side anymore and have to be replaced. I work as an equipment installation Department lead at LPI. Inc we build Catalina spas as well as Lpi spa's and we use Balboa control boards or pack as well as topside control panel.
