  1. Our hot tub is currently sitting under our open garden gazebo. In an attempt to cut heat losses I am considering building a garden room around it. Looking for information on condensation which I presume will occur with hot tub sitting at 38 degrees C overnight. If it occurs perhaps a humidity based extractor fan may be needed which would then extract the hot air and therefore bring in cold air which thus kind of defeats the object of an enclosed (warm) space for the tub. Does anyone have a hot tub in a garden room in the UK and will be able to advise on this please? This is driven by escalating ele tric costs. If anyone knows cheapest UK tariff (non electric vehicle) that will be great also. Thanks all.
  2. We inherited our first tub in a house purchase. We also used ahhsome for first pipe clean and drain. A lot of scum came out. It's about £35 for small tub but we only needed 3 tea spoons per clean. I also use Milton baby sterilising tablets solution to clean tub and cover, using a sprayer and clean cloth. You could try that. Is it not an electrical smell due to the jet pump?
  3. Ok that's cool understood. How about I flip the question.. What are the recommended options to prevent heat loss in a tub that is not filled with insulation, is outdoors, has what I consider a good cover (unlatched though). For 6 degree warm up, from my elecric meter readings I estimate around 15kWh, which equates to about £2.20 per day, so over four summer months, that equates to around £250 heating costs alone. Which is also about £60 per month. Would bubble wrap on the water surface provide a cheap fix? I'm considering putting a large square garden furniture cover over the hot tub and cover but that will be £25 minimum. I'm interested in Costs vs savings. We must all experience heat loss to a certain degree so what's the consensus? Thanks
  4. Hello all, this is my first post here. I have a hot tub that when switched off looses about 6 degrees overnight. It has a good cover on it, it's outside under a gazebo. Is this heat loss normal? How can it be reduced? Thanks
