Pool Pipe Size.. 1.5 To 2inch And New Pumps

I have a 1.5 HP pump, which I am relocating and adding solar panels. I am wondering if there is a benefit to increasing the pipe size to 2" on the intake, while leaving the discharge lines as 1.5". Thank you very much.
