  1. Can't figure it out! I have an 2008 Beachcomber and I'm getting an HH error code in the last 3 days. It also gave me an SN code and a DR code a few times but mainly HH. I also tried taking the filter out and no change. What seemed to work was priming the circulation pump by bleeding the intake & return union nuts thinking that it might be an air lock. That fixed it last night and it ran 6PM - 11:30PM at 104 degrees. When I went in, I put my hand where the hot water came out and it had good pressure, (does this rule out closed knife valves??) and all the jets worked as usual. Then this morning, HH code again!! I'm reading that this is most likely a water flow issue, but I see the vortex in the filter housing, and the tub is filled to the recommended height. Any recommendations would be helpful.
  2. Cusser What's the name of the product so that I have it on standby. I haven't noticed any leaks yet, but my tub is only an 2008. I would love to get anywhere close to 32 years out of a tub! RDspaguy, what would cause foam to shrink? Are there steps I can take to reduce the risk? Cheers everyone
  3. Hello everyone. I had a Beachcomber tech tell me that full foam tubs like there's and several others, are not only the best for hot tub insulation, but because full foam from wall-to-wall, it stiffens up the tub making it more sturdier and making the plumbing less likely to move around and leak. So benefits of full foam: - best insulation - sturdier (less likely for the tub to crack) - less prone to leaks. Myth of Fact?
  4. I could be wrong, but I believe the tool has a hole in the back which allows you to slip the tool over the tube and slide down all the way to the base of the housing. The neck of the tool allows you to reach down into the housing which conventional tools will not allow, if that makes any sense. Because its made of glass I'm afraid to just try any ol thing. Any advice?
  5. Hi everyone! So, I'm not getting any bubbles. Firstly, I ran it with all the jets in their housing and no bubbles. Then I took them out to soak in vinegar & water. The Beachcomber tech on the phone said that there's probably air in the jets and told me to run it on full for 10 mins....still no bubbles. Could that have been because the jets were not installed at the time? I looked at the Air controller valve seals and they were definitely toast. The one shown was gummy and the other one totally disintegrated. Question: - I understand the concept of the valve opening up and letting in air, but what is the ball for? - Could replacing the seals be enough to solve the bubbles problem or should I also be looking elsewhere? Observation: * The second air controller to the right of the control panel, had water just under the ball, but the one on the left did not. What could that mean? Thanking you all in advance. Cheers
  6. Hi So I bought an older 2008 Beachcomber and the blub in the UV system had water in it so I assumed that it needed to be changed. I went to the Beachcomber showroom & warehouse and their technician said that the bulb costs $140. OK fine. But the older UV systems needed a $150 specialty tool (see item 6), in order to slide down and loosen/tighten the tube (see item 2). He suggested I just upgrade to the latest UV water care system which costs $850.00. No thanks! Also, while the tub was running, I noticed that water was leaking out of the UV Ballast (See item 1), which I assumed could be fixed with a new bulb and o-rings, which again, means I would need the specialty wrench. Question: Does anyone know of a way I can take the install a new bulb without having to buy this stupid wrench? Cheers
  7. That’s fantastic advice! Thanks a lot CST. I’m near the Jane and hwy 401. Do yo do service calls this way?
  8. Hi CST Is the skids and blocks method sufficient enough to support the weight if you fill the tub with water? cheers
  9. RDguy, quick question. While the tub is on blocks, is that sufficient to support the weight if you fill it with water? I have a beachcomber with similar tongue and groove side panels and possible freeze damage leaks and may need to do this when it warms up.
  10. I bought this tub second hand beachcomber, and I'm not sure if this drain valve is broken. I can almost freely pull it out from the screwed in strapping that goes across it exposing the that white inner tube. Is this normal?? Thanks in advanced.
  11. Hello everyone. Newbe here. So I live in Toronto, ONT and I purchased a second hand hot tub and it's sitting in my driveway. I intend to use it during the winter time, probably with a canopy over it or something. In the summer I intend to put it in the back on a proper concrete pad or something more premanent. Anyways my dilemma: My driveway mainly drains water towards the street, but the back section of the driveway pools water/ice in the corner next to the garage. (please see diagram) Unfortunately that's where I intend to keep it until the summer. When flat on the driveway, as is, the tub dips about 1 1/2 inch in that corner. Option 1# I have leftover patio stones from a walkway project I could lay down underneath the tub temporarily, and level the patio stones with some left over gravel? Option #2 Put down 4 wooden skids and level it using the crushed stones or wooden shims or something? Option #3 Use shims and whatever else I have around the house?? Option #4 Leave it? - would I be doing any real damage by leaving it for 3-4 months? Currently, we had a warm snap and there's a pool of melted ice/snow touching that corner of the hot tub about a quarter inch. It's a beachcomber and has a perma-seal foundation to hopefully keep it a little dry. What do you all think I should do? Looking forward to your feedback. Cheers
  12. I’m curious, theryn, what did you end up doing? How did it work out?
